The Bad: the Giants (5-7) have now dropped three games in a row, the latest a 23-20 overtime defeat at the hands of the New York Jets (7-5). The Good: Big Blue remains part of a three-way tie for first place in the NFC East with four games remaining. If the season ended today, Washington (5-7) would win the division on tiebreakers. The Giants will look to right the ship in Week 14 in Miami against the Dolphins (5-7) on Monday Night Football.

The aforementioned Redskins dropped just their second home game of the season this past Monday, a 19-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys (4-8). Washington visits the Chicago Bears (5-7) this Sunday, while the Cowboys travel to Lambeau Field to visit the Green Bay Packers (8-4). Elsewhere, the Philadelphia Eagles (5-7) come off their win in Foxboro against the New England Patriots (10-2) and host the Buffalo Bills (6-6) in Week 14.
With Week 13 of the NFL regular season in the books, Giants.com takes a look at power rankings coming in from outlets across the country:
NYG: 17
Movement: Down 1
NFC East: No. 17 Giants, No. 19 Washington, No. 22 Eagles, No. 26 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Cardinals, Bengals, Broncos, Patriots
Comments: The Giants are cold, cold, cold. So was the outcome of that fourth-and-two play call in the fourth quarter, with the Giants up 10 at the Jets' 4-yard line. That decision might have changed the game. That decision might have changed their season. Nah, only going 6-10 would keep this team from the NFC East title. That's how stellar that division is.
NYG: 19
Movement: Down 1
NFC East: No. 17 Eagles, No. 18 Washington, No. 19 Giants, No. 21 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Broncos, Cardinals, Bengals, Patriots
Comments: The standings say the Giants are still in the thick of the NFC East race. But it sure feels like they've had their chance — so many chances, in fact — to put away the division and instead have handed it away.
NYG: 18
Movement: Down 1
NFC East: No. 17 Washington, No. 18 Giants, No. 19 Eagles, No. 22 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Cardinals, Broncos, Patriots, Bengals
Comments: I'm fine with Tom Coughlin going for it on fourth and 2 at the Jets' 4-yard line, with the Giants up 10. Don't judge decisions based on results. That's not a bad call. It just didn't work out.
NYG: 15
Movement: Down 2
NFC East: No. 14 Washington, No. 15 Giants, No. 21 Eagles, No. 28 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Cardinals, Patriots, Bengals, Broncos
Comments: With a few breaks, they might be 10-3 instead of 5-7. Of course, they've made quite a few of their own bad breaks.
NYG: 20
Movement: Down 2
NFC East: No. 18 Eagles, No. 19 Washington, No. 20 Giants, No. 25 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Broncos, Bengals, Cardinals, Patriots
Comments: Winning two Super Bowls is sort of like diplomatic immunity — and Danny Glover may soon be revoking it.
NYG: 20
Movement: Down 2
NFC East: No. 18 Washington, No. 19 Eagles, No. 20 Giants, No. 23 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Cardinals, Bengals, Broncos, Patriots
Comments: The Giants have lost four times this season when holding a lead in the final minute of the fourth quarter. According to Elias, that's tied for the most such losses since the merger.
NYG: 18
Movement: Down 1
NFC East: No. 17 Washington, No. 18 Giants, No. 23 Eagles, No. 24 Cowboys
NFL Top 5: Panthers, Cardinals, Bengals, Broncos, Patriots
Comments: At 5-7, they aren't done. But three consecutive losses sure does not have a playoff feel.
