The Athletic's Dane Brugler releases 2-round mock draft

We are officially 99 days away from the start of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Between now and April 24, a lot is going to change. Free agents will be signed, trades will be made, and the landscape of many rosters across the league will look a lot different than they do today.

Nonetheless, we have already begun to see many analysts release their predictions for this year's draft.

The latest to do is The Athletic's Dane Brugler, one of the best draft analysts in the business, who published his two-round mock draft Wednesday morning.

With the third overall selection, Brugler has the Giants taking Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter.

"If the Giants are unable to move up for Ward, would they like Shedeur Sanders enough to draft him at No. 3?" Brugler wrote. "In this scenario, they don't and instead opt for arguably the best player in the draft. Hunter would give New York an upgrade at corner — and he'd be a fun weapon for Brian Daboll to mix into the offense for the Giants' TBD quarterback."

The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner put together a special season with the Buffaloes.

As a cornerback, Hunter finished the season with four interceptions, 11 passes defensed, one forced fumble and 36 tackles (25 solo). According to Pro Football Focus, the 21-year-old allowed just 22 receptions for 212 yards and one touchdown in coverage across 13 games, which earned him a passer rating against of just 38.8.

Not only did Hunter serve as a shutdown corner at Colorado, but he also thrived as a full-time wide receiver. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns. While the receptions and yards finished within the top five in the nation, his 15 receiving touchdowns were the second-most.

In addition to winning the Heisman Trophy this past season, Hunter was also named the AP College Football Player of the Year, the Fred Biletnikoff Award winner (given to the nation's top wide receiver), the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and Unanimous All-American, among numerous other accolades.

Hunter is considered by many analysts to be the best overall prospect in this year's draft.

With the Giants' second-round pick, which comes in at No. 34, Brugler selected Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Milroe completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season. The young quarterback made a big impact in the Crimson Tide's run game, where he added 726 yards and an incredible 20 rushing touchdowns.

In 13 games as a redshirt sophomore in 2023, Milroe completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 2,834 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions while running for 531 yards and an additional 12 touchdowns. This led to him finishing sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting and earning a selection as second-team All-SEC.
