MUNICH – Notes and statistics from the Giants' 20-17 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers in Allianz Arena:
*The Giants lost for the first time in four visits to Europe in the NFL's International Game Series. They won three games in London, defeating Miami in 2007, the Rams in 2016, and Green Bay in 2022.
*This was the third overtime contest in the 55-game international series. Atlanta defeated Buffalo, 34-31, in Toronto in 2013, and Washington and Cincinnati played to a 27-27 tie in 2016.
*This was the Giants' third overtime game in Brian Daboll's three seasons as head coach. They tied Washington in 2022 and lost to the Jets on Oct. 29, 2023. The Giants are 23-18-3 in regular-season overtime games since they were instituted in 1974, including 13-7-2 as visitors.
*The Giants lost their fifth consecutive game, their longest losing streak since dropping their final six games in 2021, and are now 2-8.
*The Giants are 23-13 in games before a regular-season bye. They return to action on Nov. 24 against Tampa Bay in MetLife Stadium and will play four days later in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
*Tyrone Tracy rushed for 103 yards on 18 carries, including a 32-yard touchdown that was his second-longest run of the season. He also lost a fumble on the first play of overtime that led to Eddy Pineiro's game-winning field goal. Tracy has exceeded 100 rushing yards in three games, the most by a Giants rookie since Saquon Barkley had a franchise rookie record seven 100-yard games in 2018.
*Tracy's touchdown capped a 96-yard drive on the first possession of the third quarter. It was the Giants' longest drive by yards since a 97-yarder at Washington on Dec. 18, 2022.
*Daniel Jones completed 22 of 37 passes for 190 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. The first pick was tipped before it could reach intended receiver Theo Johnson, and the second was on a throw intended for Tracy. The two interceptions occurred after they had traveled into the red zone.
*Jones' 22 completions increased his career total to 1,437. That moved him past Charlie Conerly (1,418) and into fourth place on the franchise's career list.
*Jones rushed for 26 yards on seven carries and scored on a 2-yard run for the second week in a row. He has 15 career rushing touchdowns.
*Rookie Malik Nabers led the Giants with six receptions for 50 yards. Wan'Dale Robinson had a team-high 51 receiving yards on five catches.
*Nabers has 61 catches this season, which ties him with the Ram's Puka Nacua for the most in NFL history through a player's first eight games. Nacua set the mark last year.
*Jalin Hyatt made his third start of the season in place of Darius Slayton, who is in the NFL concussion protocol and did not accompany the team here. Hyatt caught four passes for 39 yards. He entered the game with one reception for six yards this season.
*The Giants trailed at halftime, 10-0, the second time this season they were shut out in the first two quarters. On Oct. 13, they trailed Cincinnati, 7-0.
*Brian Burns sacked Carolina quarterback Bryce Young, his former teammate, for an 8-yard loss on the game's second play. It was the Giants' only sack. After recording an NFL-high 35 sacks in the first eight games, the Giants have just one in the last two games.
*Rookie safety Tyler Nubin led the Giants with 12 tackles (eight solo). Linebacker Bobby Okereke had 11 tackles (four solo).
*Safety Dane Belton started for the second time this season because Jason Pinnock was inactive with an abdominal injury. Belton had two tackles (one solo).
*The Giants did not intercept a pass for the ninth consecutive game, extending their franchise record.
*Carolina wide receiver Miles Sanders scored the game's first touchdown on a 5-yard reception midway through the first quarter, capping an 8-play, 90-yard drive. It was fourth touchdown drive of at least 90 yards against the Giants this season. The others were by Minnesota (99 yards), Seattle (95) and Philadelphia (92).
*Punter Jamie Gillan and kicker Graham Gano, a former Panther, returned to action after missing four and seven games, respectively, with hamstring injuries. Gillan had a 37.0-yard net average on his five punts, including four he placed inside the 20. Gano missed a 43-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter but kicked a 42-yarder at the same end of the field with five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.
*Daboll realigned the edges of his offensive line, moving Jermaine Eluemunor from right to left tackle and starting 2022 first-round draft choice Evan Neal at right tackle. Eluemunor was the Giants' third different starting left tackle in four games.
Neal had played just two snaps all season; he was one of the linemen lined up on the left side on the Giants' unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt in Pittsburgh on Oct. 20, and was an extra blocker outside the left tackle on Jones' 2-yard touchdown pass to Chris Manhertz last week vs. Washington.
Neal last started on Nov 5, 2023, in Las Vegas, where he aggravated an ankle injury that eventually required surgery. Prior to this season, he had started all 22 regular-season and postseason games in which he played.
Eluemunor started the first nine games at right tackle, where he has made 41 of his 54 career starts. He previously started seven games at left tackle, most recently on Nov. 1, 2023, for Las Vegas at Miami.
*The Giants have started four offensive line combinations this season and all the changes have been at tackle. Center John Michael Schmitz and guards Jon Runyan, Jr. and Greg Van Roten have started every game. Andrew Thomas and Eluemunor started the first six games at the tackle spots. After Thomas suffered a season-ending foot injury vs. Cincinnati on Oct. 13, Josh Ezeudu started one game and free agent acquisition Chris Hubbard two games at left tackle.
*Eddy Pineiro extended the Panthers' lead to 10-0 with a 53-yard field goal on the first play of the second quarter. It was the second-longest field goal kicked by a Giants' opponent this season. Dallas' Brandon Aubrey kicked a 60-yarder on Sept. 26.
*The Giants' inactive players included two starters, one each from the offense and defense, Slayton and Pinnock. Also inactive were wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton (Achilles), linebacker Darius Muasau (hamstring), defensive lineman Jordon Riley, guard Jake Kubas and third quarterback Tommy DeVito.
