Giants vs. Cowboys Monday night preview
The Giants will take on their first NFC East opponent of the season this week when the Dallas Cowboys come to MetLife Stadium for a showdown on Monday Night Football.
While Coach Brian Daboll and the Giants are enjoying their 2-0 start, everyone in the building knows there is still a lot more work to do. Daboll isn't going to let the bright lights of playing in primetime distract his team from the task at hand.
"Playing on Monday night is always special, but the things that help you win a game on Sunday at one o'clock are the things that help you win a game on Monday," Daboll told the media Wednesday. "And I think that's where our focus needs to be is there's plenty of things that we needed to correct from Week 2, from Week 1. You're always evaluating where you're at as a team, whether it's after a loss, after a win. You're doing research on scheduling, making adjustments. You never want to come out and say, 'Well, we weren't prepared in that regard.' We're working hard to keep improving as an organization all the way around. We look forward to playing on Monday night and trying to build off on some of the things we did well and improve on the things we haven't done well."

Kayvon Thibodeaux, Azeez Ojulari ramp up workload
Kayvon Thibodeaux practiced Wednesday and later sounded hopeful of making his NFL debut when the 2-0 Giants host the Dallas Cowboys Monday night.
"Today was definitely a – (I) had a lot of progress," Thibodeaux said. "Was able to open it up and do a lot of things. So yeah, today I'm definitely confident. … We're building right now. We're building on Week 2. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but we're taking the right steps."
Thibodeaux and fellow edge rusher Azeez Ojulari each missed the season's first two games, the former with a knee injury suffered in a preseason game vs. Cincinnati on Aug. 28 and the latter with a calf injury he sustained in practice on Aug. 25.
The Giants have big plans for each of them. Thibodeaux was the fifth overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, and Ojulari led the team in sacks last season with a franchise rookie record 8.0
"Thibs and Azeez, they're getting close," coach Brian Daboll said. "They're going to take some team reps today. I think they took a little bit last week, but they're going to take more this week. They're getting close, so we'll see with them. I'd say they're still day-to-day even though they're on the close side."
