Football that Michael Strahan brought to space lands in Hall of Fame
Giants legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan made headlines last month when he traveled to space as part of Blue Origin's third crewed flight on its New Shepard aircraft.
Strahan brought his recently retired No. 92 Giants jersey with him on the aircraft, but that wasn't the only item to accompany the Hall of Famer on the trip.
The football that was also onboard Strahan's journey to space has now officially landed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
"Today, we have a really unique artifact," said Jason Aikens, Curator at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "We have a football that traveled into space with Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan on December 11th aboard the Blue Origin New Shepard rocket. This was the first time a Hall of Famer had gone into space...
"Our mission here at the Pro Football Hall of Fame is to honor the heroes of the game and preserve its history. We're always getting new artifacts all the time, and the new artifacts that we receive are on exhibit in our Pro Football Today gallery. This football will go on exhibit there as well."

49ers' Adam Peters has 2nd GM interview with Giants
Adam Peters, the San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager, became the third candidate to have a second interview for the Giants' vacant general manager position on Thursday. Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen had his second interview on Tuesday, and Kansas City's executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles interviewed on Wednesday.
Peters met with president John Mara, chairman Steve Tisch and senior vice president of player personnel Chris Mara at the team's Quest Diagnostics Training Center. He also sat down with other members of the team's front office and toured the facility.
Peters, 42, is finishing his first season as the San Francisco 49ers' assistant general manager. The 19-year NFL veteran previously spent four years as the team's vice president of player personnel.
Peters joined San Francisco after spending eight seasons (2009-16) with the Denver Broncos. In 2016, he was named the Broncos' director of college scouting after spending two seasons as the team's assistant director of college scouting. Peters was a national scout for three years (2011-13) after originally joining the Broncos as a regional scout in 2009. As a member of Denver's personnel department, Peters helped the team acquire 27 players through the draft and college free agency who were vital members of the Super Bowl 50 championship roster.
In 2003, Peters began a six-year tenure with the New England Patriots. In his first two seasons with the Patriots as a scouting assistant, he was a part of two Super Bowl championship teams (XXXVIII in 2003 and XXXIX in 2004). In 2005, Peters handled pro scouting duties for the team before serving as an area scout in his final three seasons (2006-08).
Prior to the NFL, Peters spent one season (2002) as a football operations graduate assistant at UCLA, where he played defensive end from 1999-2001. He transferred to UCLA from West Valley Junior College in Saratoga, Calif., where he played tight end for two seasons (1997-98) and earned all-conference honors.
A native of Cupertino, Calif., Peters attended Monta Vista High School, where he was a football and baseball standout.
Peters and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Alexandra and Emilia.
