Michael Strahan voted to College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Earlier this week, the College Football Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2025.

Eighteen players and four coaches were selected from the national ballot of 77 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 101 players and 34 coaches from the divisional ranks.

Among the players set to be inducted later this year is Giants legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan.

Strahan put together a legendary career at Texas Southern prior to landing with the Giants. He graduated with both the program's single-season sack record (19 in 1992) along with the all-time sack record (41.5). He also earned numerous accolades, including first-team All-American, Division I-AA Defensive Player of the Year, 1992 Black College Defensive Player of the Year, two-time SWAC Defensive Player of the Year and All-SWAC member.

Strahan was then drafted 40th overall by the Giants in the 1993 NFL Draft. He would go on to play 15 years in the NFL, all of which was spent with the Giants. He finished just a half-sack shy of Lawrence Taylor for the unofficial franchise sack record, while his 141.5 sacks are officially the sixth-most in NFL history.

He was the NFL sack leader in both 2001 and 2003, and his mark of 22.5 sacks in 2001 is currently tied with Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end T.J. Watt for the most in a season in NFL history. Strahan's performance that season led to him being named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and had his No. 92 retired by the Giants in 2021 following six All-Pro selections, seven trips to the Pro Bowl and a Super Bowl Championship (SB XLII). Additionally, he was named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team.

He was also inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and was named to the Senior Bowl 75th Anniversary Team in 2023.

Strahan landed at No. 5 on the Giants Top 100 Players list this past fall.

The other 17 players in the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class are running back Montee Ball, linebacker Gregg Carr, wide receiver Elliott Blake, center Greg Eslinger, quarterback Terry Hanratty, quarterback Graham Harrell, defensive tackle John Henderson, defensive back Michael Huff, tight end Jim Kleinsasser, offensive lineman Alex Mack, offensive lineman Terrence Metcalf, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, running back Steve Slaton, linebacker Darrin Smith, defensive back Dennis Thurman, quarterback Michael Vick, and wide receiver Ryan Yarborough.

The four coaches in the Class of 2025 are Larry Blakeney, Larry Kover, Urban Meyer and Nick Saban.

The 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class will officially be inducted during the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 9, 2025, at Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The inductees will also be recognized at their respective collegiate institutions with NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes in the fall.
