Tomon Fox, Micah McFadden land in PFF's top rookies of Week 8
The Giants fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 27-13, on Sunday, bringing their record to 6-2 heading into the bye week.
While the team was unable to extend their winning streak to five games, the defense did receive some solid contributions from two unlikely sources.
Pro Football Focus released their rankings of the top 15 rookies from Week 8, which featured two Giants - outside linebacker Tomon Fox and inside linebacker Micah McFadden.
"The Giants UDFA has been thrust into playing significant snaps the past two weeks and responded with his best output of the season against the Seahawks," PFF's Michael Renner said about Fox. "He racked up a ridiculous six run stops on only 12 snaps against the run."
Fox matched safety Julian Love and defensive lineman Leonard Williams for a team-high eight tackles (six solo) against the Seahawks, including two tackles for loss. Fox picked up a sack earlier in the season and has played in seven games with the Giants.
The undrafted rookie came in at No. 4 on PFF's weekly list.
As for McFadden, Renner wrote, "McFadden played 27 snaps against the Seattle Seahawks and made his presence felt coming downhill. He produced a sack on one of his five pass-rushing snaps and collected another stop against the run."
The sack was the first of his career as McFadden has played in seven games with one start this year.
