Mark Wahlberg jokes with Eli Manning about Super Bowl XLII
When the New York Giants defeated the previously 18-0 New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, they stopped the Patriots' chance of becoming the first team in NFL history to go 19-0.
It also led to some Patriots fans developing harsh feelings towards the Giants.
Count Mark Wahlberg as one of those fans.
The famous actor and notorious Boston sports fan joined the Week 11 ManningCast, where he discussed his feelings about Eli and the Giants pulling off perhaps the greatest upset in NFL history.
"You know what, I was just saying earlier, I've always liked Eli because we're both the younger brothers, living in our older brothers' shadows for some time. But yes, that 18-1 season, I mean that really destroyed us," Wahlberg said. "I am still very much a fan of both you guys. I think the biggest game of the year is next week- Giants versus Patriots. I still hate the Giants to this day just because of Eli...
"It's still something actually that gives me pits in my stomach."
As Wahlberg recalled these not so fond memories of his, the Super Bowl XLII MVP couldn't help but smile ear to ear.
"I would say that I'm sorry for that 18-0 season, but I'd be lying," Eli joked in response. "I'm not sorry about it."
