Lawrence Taylor makes list of greatest Thanksgiving plays
Football on Thanksgiving is one of the holiday's greatest traditions.
The NFL has a great slate of games on the schedule today, as the Bears and Lions will get things started at 12:30pm, followed by the Cowboys hosting the Raiders at 4:30. The Bills and Saints will then face off on Thursday Night Football.
Before you sit down on the couch and enjoy a full day of football, the NFL ranked the top 50 all-time Thanksgiving plays, in which the Giants were represented in the top five.
Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor had a tremendous performance in the team's Thanksgiving matchup against the Detroit Lions back in Week 12 of the 1982 season.
Taylor got things started with an impressive sack of Lions quarterback Gary Danielson, who struggled mightily against the Big Blue defense in this gam. Danielson completed just 12 passes for 125 yards with zero touchdowns and three interceptions, finishing with a passer rating of 42.5.
The star linebacker would go on to make the play of the game in the fourth quarter, when he recorded one of the three Danielson interceptions and returned it 97 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. The score gave the Giants a 13-6 lead, which is how the game would end.
Taylor's sack and pick-six came in at No. 4 on the NFL's list of top 50 plays on Thanksgiving.
