Eli Manning's performance in Super Bowl XLVI ranked among greatest in SB history
Throughout the 2021 season, the Giants celebrated the 10th anniversary of the franchise's 21-17 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.
It's been a decade since the Giants pulled off the upset over New England in the Super Bowl for the second time in four years. While plenty of time has passed, Eli Manning's performance that night at Lucas Oil Stadium is one that will never be forgotten.
Manning completed 30 of 40 passes (75 percent) for 296 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions against the Patriots. He finished with a QB rating of 103.7 and was named Super Bowl MVP.
Pro Football Focus began grading player performances during the 2006 season. Since the inception of the analytics site, Manning's performance in Super Bowl XLVI is the fourth-highest grade PFF has ever given to a quarterback in the Super Bowl.
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein releases first mock draft
The latest expert to release a prediction for the first round of the 2022 draft is NFL.com's draft analyst Lance Zierlein.
The Giants hold two picks within the first seven selections of this year's draft. But in Zierlein's original projection of the first round, the draft analyst believes GM Joe Schoen could shake things up with a trade.
Zierlein has the Giants moving up from No. 5 to No. 3 in a deal with the Houston Texans in order to secure North Carolina State OT Ikem Ekwonu, who he believes "would give the team a tackle/guard option with a nasty playing demeanor and huge upside."
Then with the seventh overall pick, the analyst thinks the Giants address the defensive line with the selection of Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux.
As Zierlein writes, "New Giants GM Joe Schoen was previously with a Bills team that spent its first two 2021 draft picks at DE and its first pick of 2020 at DE. It's key to get the rush right, and Thibodeaux is a raw but explosive option."
NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his final edition of the top 50 prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft.
