Daniel Bellinger attends Tight End University
For the third consecutive year, current and former NFL tight ends are gathering for Tight End University.
Among the participants in Nashville this week is Giants second-year tight end Daniel Bellinger, who was also in attendance last year.
"Founded in 2021 by NFL Tight Ends George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen, Tight End University was created to bring the Tight End community together for an immersive three-day program," it states on the Tight End University website. "Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more. In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game."
Bellinger finished his rookie season with 30 receptions for 268 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games (11 starts) and added a two-yard touchdown run. In the team's two postseason contests, the rookie tight end caught three passes for 21 yards and an additional score.
While speaking to the media during last week's minicamp, Bellinger shared his plan for this year's Tight End University with the media.
"Really, it's the same thing I do with Darren (Waller)," said the 22-year-old tight end. "Just sit down with those guys and, again, pick their brain. I can watch their film all day, kind of try to mimic what they do on the field. At the same time, I have to kind of create my own way of doing it. Really just trying to think about how they think and their process when they're on the field before play."
In addition to Kittle and Kelce, two of the league's top tight ends at the moment, some legendary tight ends are also helping out this week, such as Rob Gronkowski and Dallas Clark, among others.
Speaking of Kittle, the San Francisco 49ers tight end recently praised Bellinger as one of the "next best to breakout" at the tight end position.
"I like Bellinger out of the Giants," Kittle told Yahoo Sports' Matt Harmon when discussing rising tight end prospects. "I think he's a good tight end, does a lot of good stuff.
