NFL.com picks Andrew Thomas to make jump in 2022
Andrew Thomas made quite the jump during the 2021 season.
He was on the field for 800 offensive snaps in 2021 and allowed just two sacks. His 82.1 pass block grade ranked 12th among all tackles.
NFL.com's Adam Schein compiled a list of nine players who he believes are guaranteed to improve in 2022, and the Giants' young left tackle was mentioned.
"I believe he's poised to take significant strides under this new Giants regime," Schein wrote. "Brian Daboll is a superb offensive mind who put together a really strong coaching staff. He'll get the most out of the left tackle."
Between Thomas and rookie Evan Neal, the Giants have a promising pair of young offensive tackles to shore up the ends of the offensive line.
The other players mentioned on Schein's list are Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb, Denver Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II, Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Green Bay Packers RB A.J. Dillon, Indianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman, Buffalo Bills WR Gabriel Davis, Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram, and Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown.

Could Micah McFadden earn a key role as a rookie?
CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso took a look at each team around the league and chose one rookie selected after Day 1 that could earn a key role in their rookie season.
For the Giants, Trapasso went with linebacker Micah McFadden.
"McFadden's film was a joy to study. He moves quickly and effortlessly in any direction, thereby making him a stud in coverage, particularly underneath. He reads and reacts to the offense's collective movements as fast as any linebacker in the class, and while not blessed with freaky athleticism, McFadden rarely looks slow. The Giants have needed quality linebacker play for some time now, and McFadden has "outplay his draft position" written all over him."
It is no secret that Wink Martindale loves to blitz.
Well, McFadden picked up 6.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss in 12 games for Indiana last season, earning an elite 92.0 pass rush grade from PFF. This was the highest pass rush grade among ALL off-ball linebackers last season. In fact, McFadden registered 6.0 sacks in only eight games in 2020, which helped him earn an 85.8 overall PFF grade.
McFadden appears to be a perfect fit for Martindale's defense, and after serving as Indiana's team captain for two seasons, should also bring some additional leadership to the Big Blue locker room.
