Kerry Collins named OC/QB Coach at Summit High School (TN)

After beginning his coaching career less than two years ago, former Giants quarterback Kerry Collins has now been hired as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Summit High School in Spring Hill, Tennessee, head coach Brian Coleman recently announced.

Collins got his coaching career off the ground as the volunteer quarterbacks coach at Franklin High School in Tennessee prior to the 2022 season. After serving two years on the Franklin coaching staff, Collins was hired by Summit to lead the program's offense for the 2024 campaign.

The former quarterback spent 17 seasons in the NFL, five of which were with the Giants (1999-2003). During that time, Collins earned a 35-33 record and completed 58.5 percent of his passes for 16,875 yards and 81 touchdowns, all of which were his highest marks among the six teams he played for.

Perhaps his best season came in 2000, when he led the Giants to a 12-4 record and a trip to Super Bowl XXXV. Collins threw for 3,610 yards that season along with 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

He was named the runner-up for the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year award that year.

Collins was the fifth overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. During his 17 seasons, Collins spent time with the Panthers (1995-98), New Orleans Saints (1998), Giants (1999-2003), Oakland Raiders (2004-05), Tennessee Titans (2006-10) and Indianapolis Colts (2011).
