D'Marco Farr's two favorite pass-rushers ever are Dexter Manley and Lawrence Taylor. If you combine them, what name do you get?
Dexter Lawrence.
Farr, a former Pro Bowl defensive tackle and Super Bowl champion with the Rams, ranked his three favorite players currently lining up at his old position. And the Giants' three-time Pro Bowler came in at No. 1 on his list.
"He is two guys wide," Farr said on Good Morning Football OT. "He essentially plays a two-gap no matter what scheme you're in – his body and the body he's shoving into that hole. On a pass rush, if you can't anchor in there … it was absolutely a nightmare. Imagine watching that on film getting ready for that on Sunday, you won't sleep."
Cody Kessler doesn't have to imagine; he lived it as a quarterback.
The 2016 third-round draft choice by the Browns was on set and concurred with Farr while NFL Network rolled highlights of Lawrence, Cameron Heyward, and Chris Jones.
"You said the word nightmare, and that was nightmare fuel," Kessler said. "People ask do you miss playing the game as a quarterback, and then you watch a cut-up like that, then I remember why I retired. Those red-dot players, when you put the laser pointer in the film room on a guy that can disrupt a game plan, those are three perfect examples. It is a nightmare for opposing offenses."
