Positional breakdown of Dane Brugler's latest top 100 prospects list
With the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror, the focus around the NFL now turns towards the offseason.
The new league year and the start of free agency is less than a month away, with the 2024 NFL Draft not far behind.
The Athletic's Dane Brugler, one of the top draft analysts in the business, recently updated his list of the top 100 prospects in this year's draft.
As we have seen with several other prospect rankings, the top of the draft consists of mostly players on the offensive side of the ball. The first nine players on Brugler's list play on offense, including three quarterbacks, three wide receivers, two tackles and one tight end.
In fact, 16 of Brugler's top 20 prospects are offensive players, along with 58 total in the top 100.
Here are the number of players at each position in Brugler's latest rankings:
- Quarterback - 8
- Running Back - 7
- Wide Receiver - 17
- Tight End - 4
- Offensive Tackle - 10
- Guard - 8
- Center - 4
- Defensive Tackle - 8
- Edge Defender - 11
- Linebacker - 5
- Cornerback - 12
- Safety - 6
