NFL.com's Chad Reuter releases 3-round mock draft

With the 2024 campaign officially complete, the focus now shifts towards the offseason.

The new league year kicks off in a month, and not long after that, the 2025 NFL Draft will be at our doorstep. The full first round draft order is now set as we inch closer to April 24.

The latest analyst to release their predictions for this year's draft is NFL.com's Chad Reuter, who this week published a three-round mock draft. It is important to note that the NFL has not yet announced this year's compensatory picks.

After projecting Cam Ward to the Titans and Travis Hunter to the Browns, Reuter has the Giants selecting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders with the third overall pick.

"As the son of Coach Prime, Sanders has lived in the spotlight his entire life," wrote Reuter. "So I don't think the New York stage will be too big for him. That said, for the the Giants to maximize their new QB's talents, they must improve the offensive line and find more playmakers to team with Malik Nabers."

Sanders began his collegiate career at Jackson State, where he played for two years and was named the SWAC Freshman of the Year in 2021 and the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.

The talented young quarterback then transferred to Colorado, where he put together back-to-back strong campaigns for the Buffaloes.

Sanders completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions across 11 games as a junior in 2023. This past season, he completed an impressive 74.0 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

His 2024 performance led to him being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in addition to being selected as the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award recipient, given to the nation's top upperclassman quarterback.

With the 34th overall pick in the second round, Reuter projects North Dakota State offensive lineman Grey Zabel to the Giants.

Zabel is a versatile lineman with experience at multiple positions along the offensive line during his college career. He started 16 games at left tackle for the Bison this past season and allowed just one sack and seven total pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. Over his last three seasons, Zabel was credited with only four total sacks allowed by PFF.

The 6-foot-6 lineman, who saw extensive action at left tackle, right tackle and left guard while at North Dakota State, was named first-team FCS All-American and first-team All-MVFC for his 2024 performance.

Zabel, who many project as a potential Day 1 starter at guard at the next level, was named the Senior Bowl Overall Practice Player of the Week in a poll of NFL executives from all 32 teams down in Mobile a few weeks ago.

Moving to the third round, Reuter has the Giants going with Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison at No. 65.

Morrison exploded onto the scene as a freshman in 2022 when he intercepted six passes across 13 games, which led to him being named as a freshman All-American.

Across 12 games in 2023, the 6-foot, 190-pound corner registered three interceptions and 10 passes defensed to go with four tackles for loss. His 2024 campaign was cut short due to a hip injury, but Morrison did record four pass breakups in six games.
