Pro Football Focus releases 7-round Giants mock draft
We are less than a week away from the NFL world converging in Indianapolis for the 2025 NFL Combine.
Projections for this year's draft are likely to change drastically after prospects showcase their skills in front of talent evaluators in Indy. However, that's not stopping analysts from releasing their draft predictions prior to the combine.
Pro Football Focus' Josh Liskiewitz recently put together a seven-round Giants-only mock draft which featured some intriguing selections.
In this scenario, the article states that the Giants target a veteran quarterback in free agency that "can provide an immediate impact." Note that PFF has also projected the yet to be announced NFL compensatory picks.
Round 1, Pick 3 - Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
"Hunter's dynamism on offense is part of what makes him worth this pick, but it's his coverage ability that has NFL teams most excited. In 2024, he allowed just 25 receptions on 47 targets while recording five interceptions and a forced incompletion rate of 21.3%."
Round 2, Pick 34 - Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame
"Watts is the quarterback of the secondary and posted back-to-back seven-interception seasons at Notre Dame in 2023 and 2024. His instincts and ball skills helped him earn an 89.3 coverage grade in 2024, the second-highest among all safeties in this year's draft class."
Round 3, Pick 65 - Jonah Savaiinaea, T, Arizona
"Savaiinaea enters the NFL with three years of starting experience and a strong track record in pass protection. Over 1,544 career pass-blocking snaps, he allowed just eight total sacks and five quarterback hits."
