Media's multi-round mock draft predictions

Another day, another mock draft.

The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner recently put together a three-round mock draft, in which he has Abdul Carter going first overall to the Titans followed by Travis Hunter going second to the Browns.

With the third overall pick, Baumgardner has the Giants selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

"It's certainly possible New York will have to move up if it wants a choice between Ward or Sanders, but (as explained at Nos. 1 and 2 here) the Giants might be able to sit, wait and have their pick this year," wrote Baumgardner. "Ward has never taken a step back on his improvement track from Wing-T prep QB to Heisman candidate. And though there's plenty of heat on Giants coach Brian Daboll, I'm eager to see him finally get to work with a young passer."

After transferring to Miami for the 2024 season, Ward went on to put together a dominant campaign for the Hurricanes, which led to him finishing fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting.

The 6-foot-2, 223-pound signal-caller completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

In addition to his production as a passer, Ward also enjoyed plenty of success running the football. Across his final three collegiate seasons between Miami and Washington State, Ward rushed for 17 touchdowns.

Ward earned numerous accolades for his performance, including Consensus All-American, ACC Player of the Year, and the Davey O'Brien Award, just to name a few.

Moving to the second round, Baumgardner projected Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams to the Giants at No. 34.

Williams got his collegiate career off to a hot start with five sacks and seven tackles for loss across 12 games as a freshman in 2021. After a somewhat quiet sophomore season, the 6-foot-3, 327-pound tackle exploded for 53 tackles (20 solo), three sacks, 10 tackles for loss, five passes defensed and one fumble recovery which he returned for a touchdown. His 2023 performance led to him being named second-team All-Big Ten.

As a senior in 2024, Williams played 13 games for the Buckeyes and finished with 46 tackles (16 solo) to go with 2.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss and one pass breakup. He helped lead Ohio State to a College Football Playoff National Championship and was named third-team All-Big Ten.

With the first pick in the third round (No. 65 overall), The Athletic's draft analyst has the Giants addressing the secondary with the selection of Louisville cornerback Quincy Riley.

Riley began his collegiate career at Middle Tennessee State, where he was named Conference USA All-Freshman in 2020 and first-team All-Conference USA in 2021.

After transferring to Louisville for the 2022 campaign, the 6-foot, 185-pound corner recorded three interceptions. Riley broke out in 2023 when he registered another three interceptions to go with 49 tackles (29 solo) and 12 passes defensed.

This past season, Riley played in 10 games and had two interceptions along with a career-high 13 passes defensed on his way to being named second-team All-ACC.

The 33rd Team's Kyle Crabbs also recently published a two-round mock draft.

While Crabbs has the Giants selecting a quarterback at No. 3 as well, he went with Colorado's Shedeur Sanders after projecting Ward to the Titans with the first pick.

Sanders began his collegiate career at Jackson State, where he played for two years and was named the SWAC Freshman of the Year in 2021 and the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.

The talented young quarterback then transferred to Colorado, where he put together back-to-back strong campaigns for the Buffaloes.

Sanders completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions across 11 games as a junior in 2023. This past season, he completed an impressive 74.0 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

His 2024 performance led to him being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in addition to being selected as the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award recipient, given to the nation's top upperclassman quarterback.

Similar to Baumgardner, Crabbs also has the Giants selecting a defensive tackle at No. 34, although he has the Giants taking South Carolina's T.J. Sanders.

"New York has plenty of pass rush on the edge but would benefit from a disruptor to play next to Dexter Lawrence in the middle," wrote Crabbs.

Sanders broke out in a big way over his final two seasons at South Carolina. Measuring in at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Sanders recorded a total of 93 tackles (57 solo), 9.5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss and five passes defensed across 25 games in 2023-24, culminating with a second-team All-SEC selection this past season.

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his initial ranking of the top 50 prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.
