WR Hakeem Nicks - 11/19

A: …that stuff is needed. You look at a bye week and your body gets a chance to rest, but most of all you get to regroup in your mind and I think you need that sometimes just to get away in your mind and to come back and elevate your game a little bit and get that confidence back and it's just like a fresh new start.

Q: These first 10 games haven't been easy for you.
A: Right. It's about how you finish. We put emphasis on that. Finish the deal and we've just got to finish.

Q: Knee swelling all gone?
A: All gone. I'm feeling good and ready to get after it.

Q: Is this about as good as you've probably felt all year?
A: I would say that.

Q: What's the next step for you? Is it yards after catch?
A: When I self-scout for myself, I feel like I need to start doing that some more. I think maybe earlier in the season, it would kind of hinder me a little bit because I couldn't really catch and burst right away due to the knee and the foot or just not trusting it to make a solid plant on it at full speed. I think this time off and with this schedule we have I'm ready to get after it.

Q: What do you remember about going into Green Bay last year and they were the favorite to win the whole thing?
A: The Packers are a great team. They play fundamentally sound football all around, offense and defense. You know their offense is going to do well. They're going to make plays. So as an offense we have to make sure we're putting together drives, getting first downs and converting on third downs and keeping the drives alive and keeping the defense off the field and scoring in the green zone.

Q: What was the best benefit of the bye week do you think for you and this passing game?
A: It was a way of us getting back to the basics and critiquing ourselves. Just watching ourselves over the first amount of games and knowing what we have to do to get back to the offense where we know we're capable of being and me personally, I felt like I critiqued myself a lot so I know what I need to work on and I know what I need to get better at personally.

Q: What did you see when you looked at yourself for the first half of the year?
A: My bursting wasn't there the way I felt like it should have been due to some injuries, but I'm feeling pretty good now and that time off helped me get my body right and most of all my mind right for this stretch and I'm just ready to get it going.

Q: As difficult as this stretch will be, how nice is it to be able to be in control of your own destiny?
A: That's the way we like it. We don't want to have to depend on anybody for anything, so we've just got to go out there and take it one week at a time and prepare well and play well.

Q: You had a bunch of catches against the Bengals. How did that game feel for you?
A: It felt good. I felt like it was in the right step towards the right direction for me to come back off the bye week and pick up where I left off.
