Head Coach Brian Daboll
Q: On his coaching decisions today:
A: "I wanted to give some of those guys some reps. [Giants OL Joshua] Ezeudu at guard rolled him in with [Giants G Aaron] Stinnie. [Giants CB] Dru [Phillips] given some reps at corner."
Q: On whether he has received any word from ownership:
A: "Yeah, I talk to ownership all the time, so I'm sure we'll have another meeting here. But I'm in constant communication with those guys."
Q: On whether he's been given any indication on returning next year:
A: "Yeah, I'm sure we'll talk."
Q: On whether that was a 'yes' to him returning or a 'yes' to whether or not he will talk with ownership:
A: "Yeah, like we normally do after games, we'll sit down and have a conversation."
Q: On whether he has had a discussion with ownership yet about his future:
A: "Yeah, we'll sit down and talk after the game here."
Q: On whether he has previously spoken with Giants Chairman and Executive Vice President Steve Tisch and President and CEO John Mara regarding his future:
A: "Yeah, I speak to Steve and John all the time. So after the game, we'll sit down, you know, tonight, tomorrow, and we'll have a conversation."
Q: On whether he's been given any reassurances about his future:
A: "Yeah, look, we'll have these talks here after the game tomorrow, I'm sure."
Q: On whether today's game meant more or less to him with the fact that the Eagles were resting their starters and the Giants wanted to win:
A: "I thought we had some opportunities. A couple critical errors, offside penalties. We hit the one big play to [Giants WR] Malik [Nabers], but other than that, efficient, just not a lot of explosive plays. Third down wasn't good enough."
Q: On why Giants WR Malik Nabers wasn't on the field during the last drive:
A: "He ran one route and then I put [Giants WR Jalin] Hyatt in there on a double move play."
Q: On why he put in Giants WR Jalin Hyatt in on that play:
A: "To put Hyatt on a double move that we liked him on."
Q: On the reasoning behind Giants WR Malik Nabers being in and out most of the game:
A: "He got banged up one time, and then we were going to roll [Giants WR Jalin] Hyatt and [Giants WR Darius] Slay[ton] in one day and give all four of those guys work today."
Q: On whether it was important for them to give Giants WR Malik Nabers the Giants record for receptions:
A: "He got the record. We make sure he gets catches every week. We do that every week."
Q: On what was the most frustrating part of the season for him personally:
A: "Well, not enough wins. Not enough wins."
Q: On his upcoming off-season conversation with Giants ownership:
A: "I'll keep all that private."
Q: On the course of the organization after a losing season:
A: "Yeah, we're 3-14. But believe in the people. Believe in our process. And again, we'll have those conversations."
Q: On if he feels he needs to make a case for keeping his position as coach:
A: "No, we'll have normal conversations like we normally do. I have a good relationship with the Mara family, the Tisch family, [Giants GM] Joe [Schoen], so we'll go through that process."
Q: On if he feels differently about his future with the team now compared to last season:
A: "Yeah, I'm just focused on the players and the coaches. Put a lot of work into it, and obviously didn't get good enough results."
Q: On conversations he's had with GM Joe Schoen about his future:
A: "Yeah, Joe and I have good conversations. Those conversations will [remain private], but there's good communication. I'll say that."
Q: On when he expects to have the off-season conversation:
A: "I usually have them after games, the next days, throughout the week, we've talked quite a bit, I would say."
Q: On when he prefers to have the off-season conversation:
A: "Yeah, look, I mean, we'll sit down like we normally do, have our conversations, and go from there."
Q: On if he believes the Giants are better than their record would suggest:
A: "You are what you are, as [former Giants Head] Coach [Bill] Parcells used to say. We just ended this year here. So, disappointing loss today."
Q: On if he believes this Giants team has laid the groundwork for a better team:
A: "Look, just disappointed. We lost here today. Wasn't good enough."
Q: On his schedule for the players tomorrow:
A: "Eight o'clock, team meeting."
Q: On if he's concerned about his future with the team:
A: "No, look, you do the best job you can. Again, I'd say we have good conversations. Three wins, not good enough. So, a lot of work to be done."
Q: On what needs to be done to improve the team:
A: "Yeah, I'd say we're going to have a lot of talks. I mean, right after the last game [of the season], I'm not going to give you an answer to that right now. There's a lot of things we have to talk about. And we obviously have to be better."
Quarterback Drew Lock
Q: On the windy and cold conditions while playing against Philadelphia's defense:
A: "I felt like the operation was smooth today. There were a couple of false starts by us [offensively] because of those moves and jumps and shifts and yelling 'go' at the line. No excuse, but a couple of things there. And we had trouble really early on getting it going. But we came out in the second half and played some pretty good football. It was a weird game. Weird."
Q: On how important it was for him to get WR Malik Nabers the Giants single-season record for receptions:
A: "I wasn't aware of that. But good for him. That's cool."
Q: On whether the focus after the game was on today's game or the season as whole:
A: "Just this week's one game. We'll get to the season as a whole tomorrow probably.
We're disappointed in the loss here in the last one, but that's football. You've got to press on and keep moving forward."
Q: On why he felt that it was a weird game:
A: "You just felt like it. You come out and you're – the best way I can put it is that it's like when you're playing hoops. You're kind of just getting in your own way. You feel like you should be playing better, feel like we should be up, feel like we should be going. Sooner or later, it kind of started rolling a little bit for us, but by then it was just too late. We just couldn't get it done, but it felt like it was there for us today."
Q: On whether the final game of the regular season feels strange because you know that the season is over:
A: "Oh, it's always weird, especially when you go on in years. It's always weird. There's no guarantee. Treat every day like it. Whether you're on a four year, three year, or two year, you treat every snap like it could be your last. You have to treat it that way. I definitely treat it that way, and I appreciate this organization for letting me come out here and play. It's a blessing to step on the field everyday."
