Quotes (1/3): Coach Brian Daboll

Head Coach Brian Daboll

Q: Is it strange preparing for a team where you don't know exactly who's going to play?

BRIAN DABOLL: This happens at this time of the year. So, you do the best job you can.

Q: Who's not going today?

BRIAN DABOLL: (Tackle) Evan (Neal), (center) JMS (John Michael Schmitz Jr.), (inside linebacker) Micah (McFadden).

Q: I'm assuming all those guys are out…

BRIAN DABOLL: Potentially.

Q: What do you do at right tackle?

BRIAN DABOLL: We have (tackle Chris) Hubbard and (tackle) Tyre (Phillips).

Q: Is Tyre (Phillips) ready to play?

BRIAN DABOLL: He is.

Q: Why not a (tackle Joshua) Ezeudu there?

BRIAN DABOLL: Because we have (Chris) Hubbard and Tyre (Phillips) to play there.

Q: With the guys that are hurt, do you put them on IR (injured reserve) just so you can bring up more guys from the practice squad?

BRIAN DABOLL: We'll go through that later today.

Q: (Wide receiver) Malik (Nabers) okay? He popped up yesterday as limited.

BRIAN DABOLL: Yeah, he'll be okay.

Q: Did you even contemplate resting some of your starters at this point? Like some of the guys that are banged up, with the Eagles approaching the game the way that they are?

BRIAN DABOLL: We're just going to focus on us and go out there and try to perform well.

Q: There's obviously a notion that this game doesn't "mean" anything and if you win it could hurt your draft stock. Does that enter your mindset at all?

BRIAN DABOLL: No, we put everything we got into it. That's what we'll do this week. We'll do everything we can do to play and coach as well as we can.

Q: You haven't been here for most of these, but the Giants haven't won in Philadelphia since 2013. Do you think there's any significance in going in there and ending that streak for this team, this franchise?

BRIAN DABOLL: Like I said, we're just going to try to do the best job we can this week. Have a good day today, then go out there and play well.

Q: You've pretty much been the same all season even when things have gotten bad. Is that just you?

BRIAN DABOLL: I think that's the nature of the position. Try to be consistent, try to improve. It's not fun losing, but be consistent and keep on coaching them, teaching them the things you've got to teach them and try to do a better job next week.

Q: Has there been any aspect of being a Head Coach that's been more challenging than what you expected? Not specifically with the Giants but Head Coaching in general.

BRIAN DABOLL: There's a lot to being a head coach. There's a lot that comes on your plate. You lean on a lot of people in the building. You lean on your staff. You lean on the support staff. It's a collective thing. But, obviously, you're the leader of the team. So, there's ups, there's downs, there's highs, there's lows. I think it's important to be consistent.

Q: What have you learned about yourself as a coach this year?

BRIAN DABOLL: Right now, we're just getting ready here to go play the Eagles. There will be time for that.

Q: You made pretty significant changes in the offseason to your coaching staff. How do you think your coaching staff has performed this year?

BRIAN DABOLL: There will be time for that after the season.

Q: Is there any thought in your mind that this could possibly be your last game?

BRIAN DABOLL: Just focus on the things you can control. Focus on coming out here and ending up the week on a good note and getting ready to play a game against Philly.
