Q: Do you think whatever was said in the meeting today will be helpful?
A: I can't answer that just yet, I will be able to determine that more come Monday night in New Orleans. Talking is not going to do anything for us right now. We have to go out there and bring our talk into action at the end of the day.
Q: What are you most disappointed about in last night's game?
A: My mindset may be different towards things. When I said that, I respect every NFL opponent and I respect every individual player but when I am on the field, I don't respect anyone. That is the attitude I take and that is the mentality that I have and that is what carries me over a lot of times. That works for me but I can't speak for anyone else. I feel like we didn't have the attitude that we could go out and dominate yesterday. We started flat and throughout the game we were flat. We ended the game flat and for a team trying to get to where we need to get to, it is unacceptable at the end of the day.
Q: Can you explain why that happened?
A: I don't know, I am still trying to figure things out. I am not a guy, especially after the incidents that occurred last year regarding myself, I just take a different role and I sit back and watch things. I can say that right now that will no longer be the case. Whatever has to be done or needs to be said within our organization to get us on the right track and for us to play ball, it is going to be done and it is going to be said. We can pick up from there. We are too calm out there and football is not a game for you to be calm. It is a game of attitude, it is a game of emotion and I just feel like we were too calm. I don't know.
Q: Were there things that happened yesterday and you didn't see a response from your team?
A: There are a lot of things in that game that irritated me. I think you all know me as a player and sometimes I think I have to calm myself down because I let my emotions get the best of me at times, but there was a lot of things that rubbed me the wrong way. I don't like the way we responded to it. You play within the lines and you play within the rules but you don't take sh-- from nobody at the end of the day. That is my attitude. You don't take sh-- from anybody and last night, I feel like we took a little bit. I don't know what is going to change or how it is going to change but in order for us to get where we want to go, things are going to have to change.
Q: You are not talking about the defense, are you?
A: I am talking about the team. I am talking about the Giants organization. I am talking about everyone who is affiliated with the Giants. Things need to change. I am an emotional player and a team-first guy. Anybody who knows me knows that but we have to bring something different to the table. We are a great team, we are a classy team but when you are in between those lines, the only thing that matters is a W or an L. We have to find a way to get the W.
Q: Do you think the guys played soft?
A: I am not going to say we played soft. I think guys were out there flying around and we played extremely hard but I don't think we played to the standards that we could play. I don't think we played with as much toughness as we could have played. I didn't see that same intensity that we had when we went out there and played the Patriots. I didn't see that. I didn't see a lot of things and we don't point fingers here. We don't point fingers at anyone. We win as a team and we lose as a team from top to bottom. We will get better at it and we are going to find a way. That hit on Eli, I really don't want to talk about that. We are going to find a way.
