Head coach Brian Daboll
DABOLL: Give Atlanta credit. Again, you can't start a winning game when you throw two interceptions for touchdowns, have another turnover, lose the turnover ratio. They did a better job. Obviously, we weren't good enough.
Q: On 10 straight losses
DABOLL: Yeah, I'm just worried about this one and it wasn't good enough.
Q: On their play getting worse
DABOLL: Yeah, we had to do a better job of taking care of the ball. Again, to give up 14 points on the offensive side of the ball, it's hard to win any game.
Q: On what he sees on the three turnovers, including two pick-sixes
DABOLL: Yeah, you watch the safety read it, jumped in front, took it to the house, and the other one got tipped, at the start of the half. We had another, a fumble there too at the end of the half. We've got to take care of the ball offensively. It's not good enough.
Q: On considering a change to QB Tommy DeVito
DABOLL: No, I didn't.
Q: On why he didn't change to QB Tommy DeVito
DABOLL: I let Drew [Lock] battle through it. You know see if we can make some improvements. At the end of the day, it's hard to win a game when you turn the ball over three times.
Q: On what he tells the guys to keep their focus in the midst of this spiral
DABOLL: The guys have a lot of pride. At the end of the day, if it wasn't good enough, that's my fault. It's simple things relative to turnovers and things like that. If you have those things in games, it's hard to win.
Q: On the procedural penalties specifically two on WR Malik Nabers
DABOLL: I think another receiver, again we'll take a look at it, I think Malik was okay on that one. I think we weren't set on the other side of it. We were just getting our feet set, and we moved them over there pretty quick. But unacceptable, can't have it, again, put it on me.
Q: On how Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. was able to move the ball
DABOLL: I think they just controlled the game. When we came out, it was 17-7 at half. We give up the touchdown, it was 24-7 early on. They were able to control the game.
Q: On throwing in the first half to try and take advantage of Atlanta's secondary
DABOLL: I think we have good receivers. We try to move them around a little bit. Mix in the runs. Some of those quick screens or look passes to Wan'Dale [Robinson] or [Malik] Nabers are like runs to me. Get them in space and run after catch.
Q: On RT Evan Neal's play today
DABOLL: We'll go back and take a look at it.
Q: On how he feels as a competitor
DABOLL: It's not good enough. Again, that's my responsibility. You do everything you can do each week. Obviously, not good enough. Of course, after every game, it hurts. It hurts to lose. I put a lot into it. We have two more to finish off. We've got to put everything into it.
Q: On how this losing streak is wearing on you personally
DABOLL: I'm just focused on our team. Our team and trying to get better. Try to get a win here. Again, disappointing day.
Q: On whether he worries how this reflects on him
DABOLL: Again, like I said, it's not good enough. Do everything you can do to do better the next week and the next day."=
Q: On whether the team should be figuring out what is good enough
DABOLL: The guys are doing everything they can do. That's what we'll do this week.
Q: On whether he feels like his voice is being heard in the room
DABOLL: Yes, I think we've got a lot of good competitors in the room. Again, it's tough when you lose.
Q: On what he sees to make him think he's being heard
DABOLL: I'm around them every day. Look, our focus is just trying to get better each week. Get better after this game. That's all you can do.
Q: On the fans reaction
DABOLL: I'll just say look it's not good enough. It wasn't good enough. Again, you have three turnovers in a game. That's usually only one on the other side and you give up two for 14 points, these are usually the outcomes.
Q: On whether he has any regrets on how they've handled the QB situation
DABOLL: Yeah, we'll just try to do what we think is best.
Q: On whether he will go back to QB Tommy DeVito for the last two weeks
DABOLL: I'd say we're just done playing this game. We'll go back and watch the tape and make our decisions.
Quarterback Drew Lock
Q: On why the team struggled today
LOCK: Lots of things. Just didn't capitalize when we had the chance to. Had momentum after that first touchdown and that next drive broke the play – can't make it worse. Keep it in your hands. Don't put it in theirs. Scoring points to their team is never good, so just can't have that happen.
Q: On the first interception
LOCK: We had a shift coming out of the huddle. Broke the huddle late. Went up to Malik [Nabers], tried to get him over to the side. Seen him run over there. Clock's getting down. Tried to get the ball in my hands to be able to do something with it, but just didn't get our guys set and can't make a bad play worse. Flag,
nothing would've counted, just can't do that. Can't do that. Got to keep it in your hands.
Q: On what went right in the touchdown drive
LOCK: It was just a good mix of things in that drive. When we did throw it, there were completions. When we ran it, we were running it. Man, just getting the ball into the other guys' hands. That worked for us that drive. We did well in that drive, but the other ones just weren't good enough.
Q: On the mood in the locker room after 10 straight losses
LOCK: At this point in the year, where you're at, you're obviously not going to the playoffs, but all of us have pride in here. All of us have a job to do. This is our job. You know, it doesn't matter what the record is. Gotta come in and work, try to keep getting better and come out here and perform. It's our job. Keep
doing it, no matter what.
Q: On his sideline interaction with HC Brian Daboll after the turnovers
LOCK: "]Yeah, just obviously telling me I can't do that. Everything he said to me was the same thing I was feeling in my head. We weren't on two different planets on what he was saying, just obviously a little disappointed in that first turnover. The second one, batted ball over my head into the D-lineman's arms. Sometimes those things happen. You just wish that first one didn't happen before the second one.
Q: On the second interception
LOCK: Broken play. Tried to get Malik [Nabers] over, thought we could maybe try to get a snap before the clock ran out. Just didn't get out of the huddle fast enough. Wan'Dale [Robinson] was my shortest route. Tried to get the ball out to him before the safety could cut it, and he got it. But like I said, can't make a bad play
worse. Flag on it, nothing was going to happen. Could've thrown an 80-yard touchdown. I just got to be smarter and keep that ball in my hands.
Q: On trying to stop negative momentum
LOCK: After the first drive, we scored a touchdown, so I think momentum was really high there. But, momentum shifted after that pick-six. It was our job to go get it back. Kept battling, and it just never flipped for us.
Q: On WR Malik Nabers playing through a hip injury
LOCK: You can always appreciate it. You know, wide receivers going out there banged up, not ideal. They know that's not ideal, but a guy that's willing to go give it all for his team earns a lot of respect in the locker room, and he's surely doing that right now.
Cornerback Adoree' Jackson
Q: On whether it's frustrating that they couldn't get pressure on the quarterback
JACKSON: I mean, that's just one of the toughest things. I felt like we've done a great job, you know the game just swung differently, which is frustrating, but, you know, just keep your head down. You never know what may happen. But it just didn't happen today.
Q: On whether it feels like a 10-game losing streak or longer
JACKSON: No, it doesn't. A lot of those games, even though some of them we lost, we competed at a high, high level. Some of the games just got away, like this one. The other game, the Bucs, the last two, I would say Saints, Cowboys and Saints, it was like a real battle. A competitive game, you know what I mean? So some of those games, but to be able to be competitive and compete, sometimes you feel like, 'Oh, damn, even though we lost one, oh we lost another. Like, all right, I'm going to the next one, try to understand what we did well, but we have lost a lot of games. That's a different feeling, the loss.
Q: On playing for his 'why'
JACKSON: It's all about next season at this point. At the end of the day, man, you can't go back in the past. You can't really look too far in the future. You just got to be in the present. Obviously, like I said, it's about next season, but you're trying to set yourself up to get in that offseason, right? Or some guys, like including myself, you never know what's going to happen next. You're only here for one year on the last year of the contract. So you just got to keep doing it for you. It's a team game, and I understand that. But at the end of the day, ultimately, you're playing this sport because you love it. So you got to do it for you and know why you love it.
