Q: Talk about your effort tonight.
A: It was, I know for us, better than last year's first preseason game. We got the ball within the ten both times last year and ran it right in two times. We got some good work against a talented team, saw a lot of different pressures tonight, which was good. I kind of wish we could have sustained a drive. We had one, our last drive, but we came up a little short on a third and seven or something like that. It's a start. Short week. We still have a lot of work to do and go to Miami. Play a 3-4 team.
Q: What's it like not having Steve Smith out there?
A: We knew that going in. We didn't have him for the first two games last year. I like the guys we have out there. Kenneth Moore made a couple plays out there tonight. Like I keep saying, it's just a start and I can't wait to get back tomorrow evening and watch the film and build on it because this week is going to come up really quick.
Q: What did you think about Mike Goodson?
A: He's explosive. I think we all saw that on those two runs, especially the touchdown run. From a dead stop to a hundred miles an hour, so he's special but we still have a lot of work to do.
Q: What did you think about Hunter Cantwell?
A: I think he did a great job. Anytime you get a rookie, a young kid, it's a big stage. The first preseason game on a Monday night and he did a great job running the two-minute, he got the ball in the hands of the playmakers and they made plays. I think that's the biggest thing with two-minute is that you get the ball in the hands of your playmakers. Beavers made a great play and certainly Chery made a great running catch and on the two-point conversion he found Andrew Davie.
