The Giants today signed tight end Lawrence Cager, who was set to become an exclusive rights free agent.
Cager, a midseason addition after being released by the Jets, played in six regular-season games with three starts for the Giants in 2022 and caught 13 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder also appeared in the Giants' two postseason contests and recorded two catches for 20 yards.
Undrafted out of Georgia in 2020, Cager had two stints with the Jets and one with the Browns. After transferring from Miami, he was named the Bulldogs' Co-Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2019.
