The New York Giants signed veteran wide receiver Marcus Johnson to their practice squad. Johnson, 6-1 and 207 pounds, has played in 41 games with 12 starts in his career, recording 51 catches for 839 yards (16.5 yards per catch) and three touchdowns.
In a corresponding move, the Giants released wide receiver C.J. Board from their practice squad.
Originally signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Johnson was traded twice in a six-month span in 2018, first to the Seahawks and then to the Colts. Johnson played last season with Tennessee, where he caught nine passes for 160 yards (with a long of 50 yards) in seven games with three starts. The University of Texas product also returned a career-high nine kickoffs with a long of 31 yards. Johnson spent the 2022 offseason with the 49ers, who released him on Aug. 30.
