Giants claim CB Mario Goodrich off waivers

ROSTER-MOVE

The Giants claimed cornerback Mario Goodrich off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

In a corresponding move, cornerback Stantley Thomas-Oliver has been released with a non-football injury designation.

Goodrich joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2022. After not appearing in a game as a rookie, the 6-foot, 187-pound corner played in four games with one start last year, registering five tackles (three solo) while playing on both defense and special teams.

Prior to joining the Eagles, Goodrich played four seasons at Clemson. His best season came as a senior when he was named first-team All-ACC after registering 48 tackles, nine pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble over 561 defensive snaps in 12 games (all starts). Goodrich served as one of Clemson's team captains that season.

The Giants originally signed Thomas-Oliver to the practice squad last October. Following the conclusion of the season, he was signed to a reserve/future contract. Thomas-Oliver was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list last week due to a groin injury.
