EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – With the status of two injured wide receivers uncertain for this week, the Giants today added another player at the position when they activated Cody Latimer off injured reserve.
The five-year veteran swaps places with defensive back Antonio Hamilton, who was placed on I.R. with a quad injury suffered Sunday against Tennessee.
The 5-9 Giants will play the 8-6 Colts on Sunday in Indianapolis.
Latimer played in four games with one start before going on injured reserve on Oct. 16. He caught six passes for 108 yards, the longest a 39-yarder in his final game against Philadelphia on Oct. 11.
Latimer joined the Giants as a free agent on March 19, after four seasons with the Denver Broncos. His return bolsters a position hit by injuries. The Giants' leading wideout, Odell Beckham, Jr., missed the last two games with a quad injury. On Sunday, Russell Shepard sprained his ankle against the Titans.
Hamilton, whom the Giants acquired off waivers on Sept. 2, played in 13 games and had six special teams tackles (five solo).
