DE Jason Pierre-Paul - 12/19

Q:  You guys go from a team that looks like they can beat anyone in the league one week and then get shut out 34-0 the following week. Who are the New York Giants right now?
A:  I really don't know. I know one thing for a fact, I feel like we're one of the best teams in the NFL. Week after week, we come out on top, then we fall back down, come back up top, go on a losing streak, then come back on top again. This week our backs are against the wall. We're starting the playoffs early. This is a playoff game for us. We have to win, otherwise we're out. The guys know and I know it and I'm getting ready to give it my best shot and do all I can. We'll see.

Q:  If you had to describe the personality of this team over the past month or six weeks, could you even do it?
A:  I don't know. It's hard. Like I said, you don't know what you're going to get from us. We're not consistent until somebody's going to get fired or our backs are against the wall or it's either all or nothing. It's where we're at right now. It's either all or nothing, and we'll be packing our stuff to get out of here early, and I ain't trying to go home early. I want to make that run, at least get in the playoffs and show them that we can do it. That's what we're striving for and hopefully we can get there.

Q:  What were some things you've talked about to try to make that a reality?
A:  We're just out there executing plays. The last game, the Falcons game, we have to get out of our head and move on. We just know we have to win this game. This is an important game to us. Baltimore is already in the playoffs. We just have to come hard. That's what we're doing. We're practicing out there, some guys are off, but they'll be ready to go later this week. We just have to go out there and practice hard. That's what we're doing.

Q:  Do you feel that some guys are not as worried because they've been in this situation before?
A:  I don't want to hear that. To me, that's all bull crap. I mean, yeah we've done it before, but this is a whole other year. This year is a totally different year. We don't have the same guys on the team as last year. Who knows who's going to be here next year? Right now, we can do it for now and that's what we have to do. I've been here before, I can say that, but we're in the same position we were in last year. You don't know what the outcome will be. We have to go out this Sunday and play our hearts out and hopefully the next weekend, the game after that against the Eagles, and get in the playoffs. Each game right now is a must-win game for us. We put that on ourselves, and that's a consequence of it. We have to go out there and play them.

Q:  Who does Ray Rice remind you of as a running back?
A:  I don't know. I don't really focus on running backs. That's not my position. I know he's a great running back. I've seen him play since I got here, but I've never played against him. It's going to be a good opportunity for me to go out there and wrap-tackle; try to play the run. That's one of the key things too, we have to stop the run too, and rush the passer. Like I say everyday during the season, if we can't stop the run, then we can never get a chance to get the passer.
