Darren Waller, who has not played since Week 8 because of a hamstring injury, has been activated from injured reserve.
In a corresponding move, the Giants waived safety Bobby McCain.
The Giants (5-8) face the Saints (6-7) in New Orleans on Sunday as they look to extend their winning streak to four games.
"Definitely what I want to do, and what I've been used to doing, is like 70-80 snaps a game," Waller said Wednesday when asked what kind of workload he feels he can handle. "Coming out the first week, probably not that, but as far as a number that's solid that can contribute in whatever ways he (Daboll) needs me to contribute but also be fresh. Assuming that's realistic, I plan on contributing given the opportunity."
Waller has 36 receptions for 384 yards and a touchdown in eight games as a member of the Giants.
McCain played in nine games this season and recorded one solo tackle and one pass defensed.
