Q: How did Ahmad look?A: He did okay. He went and worked. He's telling me all of the things that I want to hear, but he did okay. He did alright. We'll see how he is in the morning.
Q: Are you encouraged?A: I am.
Q: But you were joking about him saying all of the right things. Can you fully trust him?A: I saw what I saw and that's what we'll go on and what the trainers and doctors tell me in the morning as to what he can do and what he can't do. We'll listen to all of that and we have a few hours before we make a decision.
Q: At this point, is it just waiting to see if he recovers enough tomorrow?A: No, not necessarily. He wants to play. He wants to do it. He's tried to do everything that we've asked him to do and today he practiced enough and we'll see how it is.
Q: Is that a big spark, having Bradshaw out there?A: I think it would be, for sure.
Q: How about Hakeem?A: Hakeem did practice. He's fine
Q: Did you see Perry Fewell's comments yesterday?A: I did not.
Q: Did you hear what the gist of them were?A: What's that got to do [with anything]?
Q: Just curious if you felt the same way.A: I'm not sure what he did say. He did come to me and tell me a couple of things he said. Those were his thoughts.
Q: What do you want to say to your defensive line on Sunday?A: Well, we have to get to the quarterback. We have had a round here of a few games without a lot of pressure and that's where it all starts for us, is up front – offensively and defensively. Regardless of how they come in to protect and etc., etc., we've got to do something to get to the quarterback.
Q: It looked like Mario tried to practice today.A: He did. He came out and he had his shells on and his helmet, but he didn't take the reps.
Q: Will he play on Sunday?A: I have no idea. Not right now.
Q: How limited was Bradshaw?A: Limited, limited. I don't know what to tell you. Limited is limited.
Q: Two days before the Packers game you take time out of practice and go talk to a little kid from the Make a Wish Foundation.A: There is a young boy who is in remission, who is from Eureka, Missouri. He has one wish. He wants to come, he wants to be with the New York Giants, he wants to visit with Eli Manning and he wants to share that experience with his family. The request was made and you don't think for one minute I'm going to stand in the way of that kind of request. I want him to feel comfortable. I want him to feel happy. I want him to feel like this is something that he really, really enjoyed doing. The players are great. The players are super. When they find out that they have a youngster here that's had adversity in his life and is fighting his way through it, they are tremendous. They've always been that way. It's a unique opportunity for all of us to keep everything in life in perspective. You have a little boy like that, whose only care, his only wish in the world is to come and see the New York Giants. I think that says it all. It does for me anyway.
Q: The Ring of Honor. When your players know that former players are being honored in that, is that anything that affects them?A: I think without a doubt. It's a tremendous franchise with a long and storied tradition and history. [The Giants are a] flagship team of the National Football League and the players that represent this team that are honored in such a way that gives everyone who's a part of this organization great inspiration. Maybe someday they can get up on that wall.
Q: Perry Fewell said…A: I don't have any comments on that. I didn't read it. I'm not going to say it and what you say, I'm not going to respond to. What's the big deal about what he said?
Q: I want to know what your opinion is of him saying, 'We're going to get after Rodgers' ass.' Do you like your coordinator taunting like that?A: I don't believe it was a taunt. I think it's more because he's upset with what has happened in the last couple of weeks and would like to see us play harder.
