Coach Tom Coughlin

Q:  How did Ahmad Bradshaw do today?

A:  Good.  He did well.

Q:  Will he play on Sunday?

A:  Good chance.  We will see.

Q:  What are you going to list him as?

A:  I think we have him probable.

Q:  Three guys that didn't practice – Canty, Ross and Ware - are they out?

A:  They are out.

Q:  I'm sure a lot of guys play hurt, play through stuff every week – but when you look at the example that this offensive line has set, what does that do for the rest of the team that they keep showing up like that?

A:  That is the way it is supposed to be.  They want to play, they don't think of themselves as injured.  They work all week to get back to a position of strength and they ask for no quarter and that is just the way they are.  I just think it is the way the game is meant to be played.  Now it is not a debilitating injury, it is an injury that the player has to work at – if you are talking about Richie.  But he can do that.  And he never misses a thing.

Q:  When you say they don't think of themselves as being injured, is that half the battle?

A:  Sure it is, yeah.  They refuse to recognize it; power of the will.  Kareem has done that this week, too.

Q:  Have you made any big deal about what happened in Cleveland last year?

A:  No.  As I told you, I mentioned it earlier in the week for one reason.  That was just so they knew that I had stuck that in there for them to all of a sudden say, "Oh, geeze, that was disappointing."   That is it.

Q:  They seemed to have remembered that pretty well on their own. ……  That has stuck with them a little bit?

A:  As I said, I haven't mentioned it again.

Q:  How has the secondary done with all of these replacements that have had to step up and how would you rate how they have done in the first three weeks?

A:  You mean the number one secondary in the league?  (smiling)

Q:  Yeah.

A:  They have done well.  Obviously there are plays that are good and plays that are bad.  But as a group, they have worked hard, they have been very good assignment-wise and been in the right place at the right time.  And I think the fact that our pass rush is coming around, that helps, too.

Q:  Yesterday you didn't say that Ross had necessarily had a setback.  Are you at the point this time where it is risky for you to get him back on the field?  Do you have to wait awhile or set him down for a bit?

A:  Whatever the training room says we can do, we do.  If it doesn't work, we go back to the drawing board.  And that is where we are.  It is a difficult thing for Aaron.  He is dealing with something that is very, very frustrating for him.  And so we are very much aware that he wants to play and that he wants to be out there.  Quite frankly, sometimes he looks good doing things and then all of a sudden something takes place that just puts him in a mode where he is not quite ready to go as hard as he can go.  So for a day or two he is back to doing very little.  And I'm sure that barring anything else that takes place, they will, again, try to put him out on the field for some work next week.  And we'll just have to see.

Q:  You can kind of tell it is emotional.  You can see it on his face.  When he is coming back he is excited.  When he is not, he is really down.  How do you make sure you keep him up when he is down?

A:  I just try to talk to him about the fact that everybody is pulling for him.  Everybody is hoping that he gets himself ready to play.  Everyone knows how frustrated he is.  'Don't make it worse by overreacting to it.  It is a long season and hopefully we will get you sooner than later.'
