The time and date for the Week 15 matchup between the New York Giants and Washington Commanders at FedExField has been set, and they're headed for primetime. The NFL announced Monday that the NFC East rivals will face off at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 18.
The Giants and Commanders recently played to a 20-20 tie at MetLife Stadium and will see each other twice in a three-week span. The Giants continue their stretch of NFC East opponents when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in East Rutherford this Sunday, while the Commanders have their bye leading up to next weekend's rematch.
The game will have plenty of playoff implications, as the winner will hold the tiebreaker over the other in the NFC Wild Card race. As it stands today, the Giants hold the sixth seed at 7-4-1. The Seattle Seahawks are currently the NFC's seventh seed at 7-5, while the Commanders are right behind them at 7-5-1.
This game will be the Giants' first appearance on Sunday Night Football since Week 15 of the 2020 season when they took on the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium.
