With draft month here, coach Brian Daboll sat down with reporters Tuesday morning at the Annual League Meeting in Palm Beach, Fla. He followed general manager Joe Schoen, who spoke the day before.
Here's everything you need to know.
📰 "About 40 percent" of the roster at this point is different. Daboll looks forward to getting them in the building on April 21. There are no depth charts yet.
📰 On calling plays, Daboll wants to go through OTAs and make a decision going into the preseason games.
📰 Daboll doesn't typically go to pro days. He prefers private workouts, particularly for the quarterbacks, and he has done a "number of them."
📰 Daboll didn't have a previous relationship with Russell Wilson but saw him from afar. He was with Kansas City when Wilson came into the league.
📰 Daboll watched every play of Wilson since 2012, which is more than 7,500 pass plays. Daboll wanted to see what he did well to inform what they can install with the Giants. "Did a lot of work on him. … He makes good decisions with the football. He's athletic. He's a little bit older, so maybe not as athletic as '13 and '14, but certainly has ability to use his legs, extend plays, create explosive plays."
📰 Wilson is a "phenomenal deep ball thrower." The Giants have some "fast guys on the perimeter" who can take advantage of it. They also have a "big, young tight end" who can get down the seam in Theo Johnson.
📰 Right now, the Giants have three quarterbacks in the room and "we'll see what happens" over the next few weeks through the draft.
📰 The Giants have done "extensive" work on a "bunch" of quarterbacks in this draft class. "I'll keep [our evaluations] in-house right now. We've got three weeks to keep grinding on them. They're good players. They're good people."
📰 New cornerback Paulson Adebo has played both systems but is a "good man corner."
📰 Daboll thinks "the world" of safety Jevón Holland since he was coming out of college. He's an "instinctive" player and "crafty veteran." He can play different spots in the back end and is a good leader.
📰 Daboll "could not be happier" for Josh Allen and his family after the Bills quarterback won league MVP. He's "all day" tough.
📰 "You're doing work all the way up until the draft" in terms of evaluating prospects at all positions. "You've got to weed through" what you hear and trust your meetings with players. "The face of a franchise is a quarterback, and it's not an easy position to evaluate. It's not an easy position to coach. It's not an easy position to play. You do the best job you can to try to find the right one for your team."
📰 Everything has to fall in line to get the quarterback you want. In terms of whether something is or is not a reach, it's more about "how you feel about the player and does that player match where you want to take him."
📰 On having big personalities in the quarterback room and possibly adding another: "I think it's important to let the players be the players and show their personalities. … I want them to be themselves."
📰 Daboll reiterated what Schoen said about Wilson being with the ones and Winston with the twos when the Giants get on the field for spring football.
📰 Daboll said it takes a long time to evaluate Heisman Trophy winner and two-way player Travis Hunter. "There's a lot of tape. It's really remarkable what he has done and the ability to perform at that level not really getting a rest. He's been a fun player to evaluate and to meet and talk with. He's a heck of a player."
📰 There were "tough decisions to make" in regards to offseason changes on the coaching staff. "I wish all the guys that we had the best of luck."

📰 New secondary coach/pass game coordinator Marquand Manuel has "done a nice job for us since he's been here." Cornerbacks coach Jeff Burris is a former first-round pick who can "help in certain areas with some of the players" like Deonte Banks.
📰 Assistant quarterbacks coach Chad Hall was with Daboll for four years in Buffalo. "He's an exceptional football coach."
📰 Run defense is a "team stat." They need to do a better job on offense, too.
📰 A reporter brought up that the "tush push" is a big topic of conversation at the league meetings. "It is?" Daboll had a meeting after his press conference where he could sit back and listen to what the medical experts have to say and the arguments against and for it.
📰 Daboll was asked if new wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey will get a look at tight end. "We'll see. He's a big-body guy. So, we'll get him into the program and we'll see where he's at."
📰 On whether he feels more comfortable as a head coach who also calls plays, Daboll said he "didn't do either well enough." He has confidence in his staff. You'll see him and Mike Kafka with the walkie talkie at times leading up to the preseason. "I've got to do both jobs better."
