The New York Giants today claimed defensive back Nate Meadors off waivers from the Cleveland Browns, who released him on Aug. 3.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Vikings in 2019, Meadors, 5-11 and 189 pounds, appeared in three regular-season games over two seasons in Minnesota, where he spent time on and off the practice squad. He also played for the Jaguars and Eagles in 2021 and was placed on injured reserve by Philadelphia last August with a hamstring injury. The Browns then added him to their practice squad on Nov. 9.
Meadors appeared in 42 career games (30 starts) in four seasons at UCLA and posted 149 tackles and 22 pass breakups. He led the Bruins with 10 pass breakups during his junior season, including one interception returned for a touchdown.
