The Giants.com crew is presented with four statements and must decide whether they are Fact or Fiction.
The Giants need to have a positive turnover differential in order to win on Sunday.
John Schmeelk: Fact – The Giants are 0-5 in games when they lost the turnover ratio this season, as opposed to 2-3 when they have been even. The Giants' 10-game streak without winning the turnover ratio is the longest in franchise history dating back to when records first started being kept in 1950. When NFL teams lose the turnover ratio this year, they are losing 70 percent of the time.
Dan Salomone: Fact – It was certainly on the mind of defensive coordinator Shane Bowen over the bye week. The Giants are the only team in the NFL without multiple interceptions, and their eight total takeaways are tied for 26th in the league. "I wish I had an explanation because then I could probably have a solution," Bowen said about the lack of interceptions. "I think we've just got to make them when we have chances. There's a couple that we haven't made when we've had some chances to get them."
Matt Citak: Fact – The Giants have failed to have a positive turnover differential in any game so far this season. In contrast, during the team's 2022 run to the playoffs, the Giants had eight such games. While the defense has played well in several different areas this season, the Giants have struggled to force turnovers. If they can generate more takeaways, the Giants will have a good chance of winning Sunday's game.
The best part of QB Tommy DeVito's game is his quick release.
John Schmeelk: Fiction – If you want to go with something tangible, I would probably say it is his mobility. But I think his best attributes are his confidence and fearlessness in putting the ball where he wants.
Dan Salomone: Fact – It was the first thing Brian Daboll mentioned this week when asked about DeVito's progression since he last played. That is a result of fundamentals but also a year of experience in the system.
Matt Citak: Fact – I was originally going to agree with John about DeVito's confidence in himself being perhaps his best attribute. But when looking at the numbers from last year, I have to go in a different direction. DeVito threw four touchdowns and no interceptions when getting rid of the football in under 2.5 seconds. More impressively, he earned a 102.4 passer rating on such throws with a 74.7 completion percentage. Quick and easy throws could be the recipe for success for the second-year quarterback on Sunday.

TE Theo Johnson is the rookie you're most interested to see develop down the stretch.
John Schmeelk: Fiction – I know a lot of people are going to roll their eyes, but I am still going with Malik Nabers. Since returning from his concussion on October 20, Nabers has not had more than 71 receiving yards nor had a catch for more than 20 yards. I want to see some of the explosiveness from his first four games show up more frequently with more big plays over the top and runs after the catch.
Dan Salomone: Fiction – Going back to the first statement about takeaways, safety Tyler Nubin came to the Giants after he set the University of Minnesota record for career interceptions. Perhaps he gets hot down the stretch?
Matt Citak: Fact – Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. have garnered most of the attention when it comes to the team's offensive rookies, and rightfully so. Meanwhile, Theo Johnson has quietly seen his role increase over the last six games. During that span, the rookie tight end has three games with five or more targets, including six targets in each of the last two before the bye. We've already seen what Nabers and Tracy can do, but if Johnson can continue to develop in these final seven games, it would go a long way in helping to shore up the tight end position heading into 2025.
The Giants will sack Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield at least three times.
John Schmeelk: Fact – Baker Mayfield tries to make plays down the field and will hold the ball to do it. Tristan Wirfs was back on the practice field this week, but from talking to people that cover the Bucs, it seems unlikely he will play this week. Brian Burns going against a backup outside and rookie Graham Barton blocking Dexter Lawrence should give the defense opportunities to get home.
Dan Salomone: Fact – The Giants lead the NFL with 3.6 sacks per game. Possibly getting Kayvon Thibodeaux back this Sunday should only help them stay on that pace.
Matt Citak: Fiction – Mayfield has been sacked three or more times in only three of 10 games, two of which came in the first three weeks of the season. Over their last seven outings, the Buccaneers' offensive line has surrendered a total of 11 sacks. While offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs left the Bucs' Week 10 game with a knee injury, the three-time Pro Bowler was back at practice on Wednesday, albeit a limited participant. If Wirfs is able to suit up Sunday, even at less than 100 percent, it might be tough for the Giants to get to Mayfield often, even with the likely return of outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux.
