10 under-the-radar free agents to keep an eye on

But what comes after the first wave is important, too.

Finding gems in free agency is just as crucial as signing blockbusters at this time of the year. These moves won't make splashes that generate a lot of outside noise, but the additions -- or re-signings in some cases -- can strengthen the overall status of a roster.

The folks over at Monday Morning Quarterback broke down the top players who fit that bill. Here are 10 under-the-radar free agents to look for in the coming days and weeks, according to MMQB:

Greg A. Bedard of MMQB also listed his best "bargains" in free agency, which included quarterback Matt Moore (Dolphins), running back Stevan Ridley (Patriots), tight end Tony Moeaki (Seahawks), wide receiver Leonard Hankerson (Redskins), offensive tackle Jermey Parnell (Cowboys), guard Joe Berger (Vikings), center Tim Barnes (Rams),  edge rusher Akeem Ayers (Patriots), interior lineman Kenrick Ellis (Jets), linebacker Mason Foster (Buccaneers),  cornerback Walter Thurmond, (Giants), and safety Jeron Johnson (Seahawks).
