Marcus Cooper is in his second season as a national scout for the Giants and his seventh year with the organization.
Cooper was the team's area scout in the southeast for five years.
Prior to joining the Giants, Cooper spent seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills. In 2017, he was the Bills' scout in the BLESTO Scouting Combine. Cooper was a college area scout focusing on the northeast for Buffalo from 2015-16. In his first four seasons with Buffalo, Cooper was a player personnel assistant (2013-14) and personnel intern (2011-12), providing support to all levels of scouting and player engagement departments.
Before his tenure with the Bills, Cooper was a defensive graduate assistant at Alcorn State University.
Cooper finished his playing career in 2008 as a starting linebacker for the Alcorn State Braves, earning letters in 2007-08. He joined Alcorn from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he helped lead the Wolves to the 2006 Golden Isle Bowl Classic Championship, and a No. 6 ranking in the final NJCAA Poll.
Cooper graduated from Alcorn State in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. The following year, he earned a master's degree in secondary education guidance counseling. A Mississippi native, Cooper played fullback and linebacker at Laurel High School.
Cooper and his wife, Deanna, have a son, Rylan, and a daughter, Amaya.
