Hannah Burnett is in her fifth season as a Giants area scout.
Prior to joining the Giants, Burnett worked for the Atlanta Falcons from November 2018 until June 2020, first as a scouting coordinator and then as a scouting assistant.
As a coordinator, Burnett worked as the liaison between the Falcons, players, agents, and schools to schedule workouts and managed the logistics of player on-boarding. She assisted the scouts with travel coordination, pro-scout advance, and updated club databases as needed while also handling scouting assistant responsibilities. Those duties included watching college tape, creating POA cutups, and evaluating practice tape. Other responsibilities included attending bowl games and the NFL Scouting Combine.
Burnett joined the Falcons after working as a player personnel assistant at the NFL office in New York. She also has experience as a sports marketing intern at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an event operations intern with the Buffalo Bills.
In 2020, Burnett was named a Scott Pioli & Family Fund recipient, an annual grant that aims to promote the development, education and training on aspiring female football coaches and scouts.
A graduate of UMass-Amherst, Burnett played Division 1 lacrosse and served as captain of the team. She served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was a member of the Atlantic-10 Conference Commissioners Honor Roll. Burnett was a two-time all-region player, two-time all-conference player and three-time conference champion. She holds the record at UMass for most points in a game (10). Burnett was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and received the UMass Student Athlete Excellence in Leadership Award.
She had a sports management and marketing double major.
Burnett is a graduate of Huntington High School on Long Island, where she played varsity lacrosse, soccer and basketball. She was a captain of both the lacrosse and soccer teams. Burnett was a US Lacrosse Academic All American and three-time all-county player in both lacrosse and soccer. Burnett also received the Huntington Lacrosse Alumni Award.
She is daughter of Carly and Matthew Burnett and has a sister, Molly.
