Week 14: NYG vs. SD Grades
Giants.com contributor Shaun O'Hara grades the different position groups for their performance vs. the Chargers

OFFENSIVE LINE: DI thought in the first half they didn't run the ball effectively enough and then they didn't protect well enough. It just wasn't a good day. I thought a couple times it looked like James Brewer didn't identify who he was supposed to block. Not a good day.

QB ELI MANNING: DHe had the picks, and then even on that first good throw to Hakeem Nicks, I thought it could have been a better throw. Then the Hail Mary at the end of the half, I don't understand how the ball didn't get into the end zone. It was another poor performance in terms of turning the football over for Eli.

RUNNING BACKS: C+They did average 4.6 yards per rush, but a lot of that was in the second half when they were behind. They had just 24 yards in the first half.

WIDE RECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDS: C+Hakeem Nicks had his best day production-wise, but a lot of it was when the game was kind of out of reach. San Diego did a good job of taking Victor Cruz away, which allowed Nicks to step up. Brandon Myers found the end zone again.

DEFENSIVE LINE: C+Ryan Mathews had a 100-yard rushing day. They struggled to get off the field. Justin Tuck did have two sacks, but they didn't have consistent pressure on Philip Rivers.

LINEBACKERS: CThey got taken advantage of a couple times. Spencer Paysinger had the passing interference in the end zone - that was tough.

SECONDARY: DComing in, Keenan Allen led all rookies in receptions and yards. So they knew that he was going to be a big part and the same with Danny Woodhead. He led all running backs in receptions in the NFL. They knew all that, and they still couldn't stop them.

SPECIAL TEAMS: C+The penalties were not good and cost them points. Steve Weatherford did have a pretty good day, though.
