OT Justin PughThe first-round draft choice is slotted to become the first Giants rookie offensive lineman to start a season opener since guard Chris Snee in 2004. Pugh will be right next to the veteran right guard when he lines up at right tackle and will have his hands full whether or not perennial Pro-Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Ware is on his side."We have a young guy that's going to get his first start in the National Football League and he's more than willing and he's talented," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday of Pugh. "If it so happens that they do flip and do some things of that nature, then I think he'll be ready to play."

RB David WilsonWilson was already set to take on more of a workload in 2013, but that ratcheted up another notch when the Giants placed fellow running back Andre Brown on the injured/designated to return list this week. Behind Wilson, the Giants have Da'Rel Scott, who has just 11 carries in two NFL seasons, and rookie Michael Cox. It will also be interesting to see what the Giants do in kickoff return, where Wilson electrified the team last season as a rookie. Cox proved to be a reliable returner in the preseason and was bumped up to the top of the depth chart at the position.

Third safety/cornerback The Giants are moving forward with three safeties for now with the possibility of others to play hybrid roles. Behind starters Antrel and Ryan Mundy, they have rookie Cooper Taylor as the only other player listed at safety. However, Terrell Thomas and Aaron Ross have the experience to play multiple roles in the defense under Perry Fewell, who likes to present different combinations and looks with his personnel."There will be other people that will be able to play back there," Coughlin said. "We won't do it with any amount of snaps. It will be more of a classroom knowledge type thing and you may get a couple, but that will be the extent of it."

LB Dan ConnorThere was plenty of attention on the linebacker competition throughout the offseason, training camp, and preseason. It all boiled down to who would start Week 1, and Dan Connor is that man in the middle. It's only fitting the first-year Giant and former Cowboy will make his debut in Dallas.

LB Jacquian WilliamsAny time a talented tight end comes up on the schedule so does Williams' name in the scheme. The speedy linebacker may not be a starter, but there will plenty of work to go around in the different combinations the Giants will use. Last time the Giants faced the Cowboys, Jason Witten stacked up 18 receptions for 167 yards en route to a 110-catch season. While the Giants won that game, they will need to limit one of Tony Romo's best targets. , "He had an exceptional year all the way around," Coughlin said. "He did have a huge night against us and caught 110 balls for the season, which set the all-time record for tight ends. I think you have got a pretty good player."
