Players to Watch vs. Bears
Keep an eye on these five players as the Giants face the Bears Thursday night

LB Spencer PaysingerThe Giants fared well against a star running back for the second game in a row last week when they held LeSean McCoy to 46 yards on 20 attempts. While it's a team effort and the bolstered interior of the defensive line is a major factor, Paysinger has been the one receiving the calls and lining up the defense as he continues to grow as a starting linebacker in the NFL. They will have another tough test against Chicago's Matt Forte.

S Will HillReturning from his four-game suspension last week, Hill was thrown right back in against the Eagles and never left the field. He went on to lead the Giants with 11 solo tackles and looks to be a positive for the Giants defense moving forward."I thought he handled it extremely well," defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said. "We knew we wanted to play him. We didn't think we'd play him that much, but we felt like he was playing well and that the chemistry that he had with the other guys was a good chemistry and so we just didn't want to break it up at that point in time and take him off for a blow. But he responded extremely well, in my opinion."

RB Brandon JacobsThe run game took another hit when David Wilson left last week's game with a neck injury. The Giants' leading rusher has been ruled out for Thursday night against the Bears, making Brandon Jacobs the next in line. They also brought back Da'Rel Scott, whom they waived last Tuesday, to shore up their depth, which also includes rookie Michael Cox."My expectations, for me, are to go out and help this team win," Jacobs said. "Do something that we haven't done all year long and do whatever they need me to do. Pass protect, run hard, whatever, catch, whatever they ask me to do I have to go out there and get it done."

LB Jon BeasonAcquired in a trade with Carolina less than a week ago, the former All-Pro and Pro Bowl linebacker is ready to contribute on defense and help the Giants get a win. Beason, who will play middle linebacker, arrived last Friday and appeared on special teams Sunday against Philadelphia."We are going to incorporate him in our defense this week," defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said. "We have certain packages that he will be involved in. He's only been with us a couple of days, but we felt like it was important to get him involved as soon as possible."

CB Trumaine McBrideThe six-year NFL vet returns to face the team that drafted him in 2007. McBride played three years with Chicago before stints with Arizona and Jacksonville. The first-year Giant made his first start last week since the 2008 season with the Bears in place of injured Corey Webster. He, Prince Amukamara, and the Giants secondary will have a tall task against the Bears' two big wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.
