Players to Watch on Sunday
Keep an eye on these players as the Giants head to Washington on Sunday

G James Brewer/C Kevin BootheBoothe and Brewer will be a part of the sixth five-man starting offensive line configuration for the Giants this season. The latest shift happened when Jim Cordle, who started seven of the last eight games at center, was placed on injured reserve with a patella tendon injury suffered last week against the Cowboys. Boothe moved over from left guard, and Brewer took over at the guard spot. "My plan is to just make the most of it and play well," Brewer said. "I've already played before. I started against Dallas that first game and I played against Kansas City at right guard, so I've already done it. For me, it's just to show the coaching staff that I'm the right guy for the job."

DT Cullen JenkinsDefensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been ruled out for Sunday due to a shoulder injury, meaning the versatile Jenkins could fill part of that role. Rookie Damontre Moore and Markus Kuhn will get a bump up as well, but Jenkins' experience and size will be key against an offense that uses a lot of option and play action. Jenkins had the sixth multi-sack performance of his career last week with two against Dallas. "We'll play Moore, we'll get him ready," defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said. "We'll also play Jenkins and move him outside a little bit. Obviously we have a plan that we'll do a couple different things in certain situations."

S Antrel RolleRolle has taken his title as defensive co-captain seriously this year and it has translated to the field. With another pick last week against Dallas, Rolle has five interceptions on the year, good for a two-way tie with Tennessee's Alterraun Verner for second in the NFL. His fifth tied a career-high for Rolle, who had that many in 2007 when he played for Arizona. "We're just taking it one game at a time," Rolle said. "We're not really worried about any playoff contentions at this moment and we haven't been worrying about that thus far. We just have always been taking it one game at a time and we're going to continue to do the same thing. The season's going to take care of itself."

WR Hakeem NicksNicks was a late scratch last week with an abdominal injury leading up to the Dallas game. He began this week in a limited capacity but was a full-go in Friday's practice and is listed as probable. The Giants will need Nicks as he looks for his first touchdown of the season. "I've always got to be positive with my thought process," Nicks said. "Any negative thinking isn't good for myself or the team. I think we've just got to keep on pushing to possibly give ourselves a chance of winning these last five games, so I think that's our focus. We've got to win these last five and then we'll see what happens."

RB Andre BrownThe Giants rank just 25th in rushing yards this season, but Andre Brown has brought the average up since his return from a broken leg. Last week he ran for a career-high 127 yards, and combined with Brandon Jacobs, the Giants rushed for a season-high 202 yards as a team. Jacobs (knee) is out this week, which means a big load for Brown. "I went out there and just ran hard," Brown said. "Everybody was feeding off of us, Brandon had a good game, too, and the offensive line was driving people back off the ball. You could see that we were out there running the ball. With the weather, it was a running game. We went out there and we ran the ball well.
