Players to Watch: Giants vs. Colts
5 players to watch during the Giants vs. Colts preseason game.
![LT Will BeattyBeatty is set to play in his first game since fracturing his leg in the 2013 regular-season finale. Coach Tom Coughlin said the left tackle will start the Giants' third preseason game on Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts but will have a limited number of reps. "I am expecting a lot from myself," Beatty said. "I am going up against [Colts outside linebacker Robert] Mathis, and it is his [12th] year in the league, and knowing it's a preseason game, but his intensity to the game and how he plays it, he will look at it as a regular season game. Each snap he gets, he is going to give it his best. This is my marker of how well I have trained during the off-season to recover and get back to top shape."](https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/giants/vpduk3mldwlt1yhxmjcw.jpg)

QB Curtis PainterThrough two preseason games, Painter has yet to throw an incomplete pass on 10 attempts for 94 yards and a late touchdown pass to wide receiver Corey Washington that proved to be the game-winner last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The quarterback was bumped up this week to second in the rotation behind Eli Manning and ahead of Ryan Nassib.

WR Victor CruzBoth Cruz and Coughlin joked this week about how it would be nice to see the wide receiver get a catch in the preseason after not even being targeted in the first two games. But there might be a layer of truth to it. Cruz is a catalyst of the offense, and with a strong week of practice after resting a sore knee on Monday, he's building up his momentum for the upcoming season.

FB Henry HynoskiAfter spending most of last season on the injured reserve list, Hynoski said he's in the best shape of his career right now and is playing any and all positions the coaches ask of him in the new offense. And that's a lot. Hynoski is playing fullback, running back, and even some tight end. "He is not going to line up on the line of scrimmage, but he will line up at the up position, in the flood wing position and all over the backfield," Coughlin said. "He can do those types of things."

WR Corey WashingtonThe undrafted rookie out of Newberry College has now caught the final go-ahead touchdowns in the Giants' two preseason victories. The first was a 73-yarder against the Buffalo Bills in the Hall of Fame Game, and the second was a 3-yard fade from Curtis Painter in the end zone against the Pittsburgh Steelers. We'll see if he can do it once again in Indianapolis as he makes his case for the 53-man roster.
