Players to Watch at Giants Minicamp
Keep an eye on these five players as the Giants open minicamp Tuesday

CB ELI APPLEThe 10th overall pick out of Ohio State is part of a formidable trio at cornerback, along with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and newcomer Janoris Jenkins. The Giants have looked at a variety of combinations with them on the field, including all three seeing time on the inside as well as the outside. It'll be interesting to watch the roles evolve.

WR GEREMY DAVISLast year's sixth-round pick out of UConn played in 10 games as a rookie but recorded just two receptions for 21 yards. Everyone in the wide receiver room received a bump up with Victor Cruz continuing to rehab during OTAs as he aims for a full return in training camp, and Davis heard his number called more than a few times.

SAFETY DARIAN THOMPSONThe third-round pick out of Boise State spent much of OTAs playing opposite Landon Collins on the top safety tandem. The rookie has recorded a few picks in practice, something he did 19 times in college as the Mountain West's all-time interceptions leader.

CB DONTE DEAYONThe undrafted free agent out of Boise State finished third on the Mountain West's all-time interceptions list behind teammate Darian Thompson and All-Pro safety Eric Weddle of the Ravens. Deayon carried that over to OTAs, where he recorded a pair of interceptions, in addition to breaking up a handful of other passes.

FB WILL JOHNSONThe former Steeler also plays H-back and tight end, creating an interesting numbers game when it comes to Nikita Whitlock, Larry Donnell, Will Tye, Jerell Adams, Matt LaCosse and Ryan Malleck. Johnson was an outstanding blocker in Pittsburgh, but we won't see the 6-foot-2, 240-pounder's physicality until the pads come on in training camp. In the meantime, he showed he can catch anything thrown his way during OTAs.
