Five 2013 Breakout Players
Giants.com names five players who could have breakout years in 2013

Some may consider 2012 a breakout year for Andre Brown, who led the Giants in rushing touchdowns despite suffering a season-ending leg injury in Week 12. But the running back is out to prove he is more than a short-yardage ballcarrier and that playing all 16 games is the ultimate stat in 2013. With Ahmad Bradshaw gone and David Wilson coming off an up-and-down rookie season, Brown looks to figure into the new-look backfield in a big way. Career: 14 GP, 2 GS, 75 ATT, 384 YDS (5.1 AVG), 8 TD

From one storied franchise to another, Mundy brings a championship mentality from Pittsburgh to New York, where he will battle behind Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown, who had his own breakout year in 2012 with eight interceptions. Mundy is no stranger to working his way up a depth chart, having played behind safeties Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark with the Steelers. Now it's time for Mundy to take what he learned from those Pro Bowl safeties and run with it in the Giants' secondary. Career: 14 GP, 2 GS, 75 ATT, 384 YDS (5.1 AVG), 8 TD

Playing on a 4-12 team in Oakland last season, Brandon Myers didn't exactly become a household name when he posted 79 catches (fourth among tight ends) and 806 yards in 2012. But Myers, who is expected to be Eli Manning's fourth different starting tight end in as many seasons, is looking to build off that success in a Giants uniform and in the NFC East. Prior to 2012, Myers' best season included 16 receptions for 151 yards, and thanks to an endorsement from Kevin Boss – former New York tight end and a teammate of Myers when they were in Oakland together two years ago – Myers chose to become a Giant. Career: 58 GP, 28 GS, 111 REC, 1,056 YDS (9.5 AVG), 4 TD

Injuries have stunted the early stages of Prince Amukamara's career, but the cornerback, who played 13 games in 2012 with 11 starts, solidified his spot opposite Corey Webster in the secondary. Experts say don't judge a draft pick until the player's third year, and in that case, Amukamara – the Giants' first-round choice in 2011 – will want to have a big 2013. Career: 20 GP, 11 GS, 75 TACKLES, 10 PD, 2 INT

No one's stock rose higher than Rueben Randle's during the Giants' offseason. Over the past few months, the second-year wide receiver garnered praise from coaches and teammates, who said he is learning what it takes to be a professional. As a rookie, Randle came on strong down the stretch, finishing the year with 298 yards and three touchdowns, including four catches of 20 yards or more and two of 40-plus yards. With Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, and another year working with Eli Manning, Randle completes a dynamic passing attack for the Giants. Career: 16 GP, 1 GS, 19 REC, 298 YDS (15.7 AVG), 3 TD
