6 Players to watch: Giants vs. Jets
Make sure you watch these six players during the Giants vs. Jets preseason game

OL Weston Richburg As part of the Giants' shuffling and reshuffling of the offensive line to find the best combination, the rookie second-round draft choice has played all three interior positions this summer, including some recent reps with the first team. "That was my goal: to come in and compete," Richburg said. "If you go to a team and don't want to compete for a starting role, I think you're cheating yourself. I want to be here, I want to be a player. I don't want to be a guy that's not playing. I want to contribute, be reliable, and be a guy that people can count on."

QB Eli ManningCoach Tom Coughlin's main concern in his team's fourth of five preseason games is to see production from the starters, especially on offense. Manning has completed just one pass for six yards on nine attempts in the last two contests. "I think it's just a matter of… we're doing good things in practice," Manning said this week. "We've just got to… it seems like there are still mistakes and some things we've got to correct and practice as well. But the things we are doing well, we have to make sure those continue to carry over to the game."

WR Corey Washington/WR Marcus HarrisWashington and Harris are leading the campaign to keep six receivers when final rosters are set on Aug. 30. Last week Washington caught the game-winning touchdown for the third week in a row, while Harris led the Giants with four catches for 41 yards against the Colts. Coughlin was asked after Wednesday's practice if it is important see what they can do with the first team against the Jets. "That is, it's an important thing," Coughlin said. "How they are used and how many snaps they get in that time slot, we'll see. I would like to see each of them, but there are other people that have to have the same opportunity."

TE Adrien RobinsonThe third-year pro, who has played in just three-regular season games with no receptions, caught two key passes for 59 yards on quarterback Ryan Nassib's game-winning drive in Indianapolis last week, earning some more time with the first team. "He certainly has given himself an opportunity to play a little bit more, yeah," Coughlin said.

WR Victor CruzCruz has yet to catch a pass this preseason but hopes to get himself and the offense going against a team he has a lot of history with as the Giants take on the Jets in MetLife Stadium on Friday night. As an undrafted rookie in 2010, Cruz caught six passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns in the preseason opener against the Jets. He followed that up with the unforgettable 99-yard score against them a season later to spark the Giants' Super Bowl run. "It's never going to escape me, every year we play them, preseason or regular season," Cruz said leading up to the game. "There is always a spot there for me of memories and the game I had against them my rookie season, and that never goes away. That never goes away. That feeling is always there and I am sure the Jets organization knows it's there, so it is always going to be nostalgic for me to go play them again. They are the home team again this year, so it is going to be nostalgic, but that is all in the past. We definitely want to keep moving forward and going in the right direction, but it is always a fun memory for myself."
