RB David Wilson The second-year pro demonstrated his quickness and the kind of rare cutting ability that will corkscrew numerous defenders this season. Wilson rushed for 34 yards on eight carries and caught two passes for an additional 21 yards.

WR Hakeem Nicks In his 2013 preseason debut, Nicks showed that his foot,knee and groin are all healthy as he caught a pair of passes from Eli Manning, each for 20 yards. Each catch helped set up a Josh Brown field goal.

CB Jayron Hosley He was victimized on T.Y. Hilton's 18-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, but redeemed himself late in the period when he intercepted Matt Hasselbeck's pass and returned it 37 yards to the Colts' 40-yard line. The takeaway led to Josh Brown's 45-yard field goal.

Center Jim Cordle He stepped in when David Baas sprained his knee on the game's first series. Cordle played most of the game at center, had no errant snaps and acquitted himself well blocking. He has a lot of competitors for the jobs as backup linemen, but Cordle seemed to hold his own vs. the Colts.

LB Dan Connor Connor played the entire first half at middle linebacker, lining up with both the first and second teams. He had three unassisted tackles and presumably helped himself in the competition with Mark Herzlich for the starting job. Herzlich played in the second half.
