5 players to watch vs. Colts
Keep an eye on these five players during Giants vs. Colts on Monday Night Football

WR Odell Beckham Jr. The rookie first-round draft choice has three touchdowns in his first three NFL games while providing a spark as a punt returner. Coach Tom Coughlin doesn't care how his team makes plays; he just wants them, period. And Beckham could provide plenty in the second leg of the season, beginning on Monday night.

LB Jon Beason (foot/toe) was placed on season-ending injured reserve this week, making McClain the next man up -- again. The veteran has already filled in this season for Beason, whose injury had lingered since the summer and caused him to miss three games before the decision to undergo surgery. Like Beason, McClain is vocal and can command the defense, which needs to get back to basics. "It's crazy, man. It's really unique, I'm telling you… we're going to play defense," McClain said this week. "That's how we're going to stop [the Colts]. We're going to do the most unique thing you've ever seen – we're going to play good, sound, fundamental defense.](https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/giants/g9wwupygw47qr72haefw.jpg)

LB Devon KennardBeason's injury also creates an opportunity for Kennard, who is trying to translate his impressive rookie training camp over to the regular season. Kennard is another young player the Giants will count on in the second half of the season . "In this day and age, you can't bring rookies in and keep them out for a couple years and try to develop them," general manager Jerry Reese said Monday. "They have to come in and play right away."

DE Damontre MooreCoach Tom Coughlin said the Giants will rotate their defensive linemen more often to keep players fresh down the stretch, beginning with an elusive quarterback in Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. That rotation includes second-year defensive end Damontre Moore, whom the team wants to get more involved. "He's working at it," Coughlin said Friday. "He's going to be in the rotation. We're urging him every day to focus and concentrate on his assignments. He's athletic, but we have to do it within the scheme, so that's where we are."

RB Andre WilliamsStarting running back Rashad Jennings will miss his third straight game on Monday night against the Colts after sustaining a knee injury in the Giants' Week 5 victory over Atlanta. That means Williams will again shoulder the load while the Giants' front tries to find consistency in the running game, which is averaging 3.73 yards per rush (27th in the NFL). In the meantime, Jennings is mentoring Williams as he continues to develop. "I'll give you his evaluation. Me and Andre talk a lot," Jennings said. "He wants to be a great running back and he will be. He's critical of himself, but he's a hard runner. He's going to run hard every time he touches the ball. Something he wants to put in his toolbox is patience. It's never about speed to the hole, it's speed through the hole and understanding your personnel, how to set it up, defensive fronts, studying film. That comes with time."
