The Giants are in uncharted territory.
Usually 6-2 – or somewhere near it -- at the midpoint of the season, they are on the opposite end this year at 2-6. Instead of jumping out to a division lead, they will play the role of chasing the NFC East title from behind. After a 0-6 start, the Giants have started the comeback with two straights wins to sit two games back of the lead heading into their bye week.
"I think there's some excitement," Coughlin said this week. "We're certainly not blind to the issues that we do have, but by the same token we're excited about having an opportunity to improve on those areas and excited about the second half of the year."
